Dear Members of the Borzoi Club of America Board of Directors,
Please find listed below, the complete list of BCOA junior members, as well as non-members exhibiting Borzoi in AKC
junior showman competition throughout the United States during the 2011 calendar year. I have made note of the 17 juniors
who are currently listed as 2011 junior members of the Borzoi Club of America:

Congratulations to Robin Stachon, who is not only our 2011 BCOA Top Junior Showman, but also the recipient of our first
annual Borzoi Club of America Junior Showmanship Scholarship - job well done, Robin!
I want to take this time to remind all juniors that the BCOA yearly scholarship award is available to our junior handlers who
meet the qualifications as stated on the junior page of the BCOA website: www.borzoiclubofamerica.com
As in years past, during the first part of 2011, I mailed out letters and membership applications on behalf of the Borzoi Club of
America to junior non-members. Sadly, not only have the number of non-member juniors handling Borzoi dwindled, so has the
number of BCOA junior members actually participating in junior competition gone down.
With that in mind, I would like to make the following proposal:
In an effort to encourage juniors to not only join, but to actually participate in junior competition, I would like to suggest that
in 2012 we open up our yearly BCOA Top Five Junior Certificates Of Recognition to all juniors (club members as well as nonmembers)
handling Borzoi in AKC sponsored junior showmanship competition. The only caveat would be that our Top Junior
Award and Number One Certificate can only be won by a junior showman who is a member of the Borzoi Club of America. If
any non-member should qualify to win the number two through five certificates, the appropriate certificate, along with a BCOA
letter of invitation and membership application, would be mailed out to that junior. It is my opinion that this is another positive
way to encourage children and their families to join and participate as members, while allowing them the opportunity to strive
for that number one award! I look forward to input from the board, as well as club members on this idea for increased involvement
by a larger number of juniors.
In closing, I would like to thank all those members who supported our BCOA junior members throughout the past year. I
encourage all club members to take the time in 2012 to get to know the young people who represent our breed’s future!
