IPO1 & 2 HELPER: JOHN BUCKINGHAM Hello my name is JOHN BUCKINGHAM and I am a member of O.G. Indianapolis Schutzhund and Polizei since 2010. Working dogs have always fascinated me and especially police dogs. After graduating college and finishing my football career I sought out a club to develop my skill set of becoming a police k9 handler. I was fortunate to meet Mike Diehl in March 2010. Since that time under Mike’s tutelage I have become a Sheriff’s Deputy for the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department in Indiana, titled my own dog, and achieved a Regional level helper rating. Along with working some of the best dogs our country has to offer. I have been fortunate do helper work for numerous club trials and this will be my first regional event. Doing IPO trial work is one of my greatest passions. The challenge of preparing yourself and being able to demonstrate consistent, strong and safe work has always been the draw for me to compete at the highest level. I am always looking forward to working the strongest dog that has the mentality to defeat the helper. Where I am at today could not be possible without the friendship and support of many people. I would like to thank Pepper Eldridge, Kevin/Cheryl Nance, Carolyn Daniel, Talerie Brown, Sean O’kane and all of my O.G Indianapolis members. Further I would like to thank our President Jim Alloway and Vice-President Frank Phillips for their consistent support and mentorship to developing me into the best helper I can be. Thank you Tony Copani , for inviting me to come up to the New England Regionals and being such a gracious host. Lastly thank you John Sluss and Mike Diehl for none of this would be possible without either of you. To the judges, I will be ready to put out my best work on the field. To all competitors good luck and happy trialing! Accomplishments Helper work for 6 club trails with a total of 44 dogs worked in trial. Helper for Mike Diehl’s Erri z Blatenskelo Zamku- 2009 National Champion Helper for Sean O’kanes Max ze Stribreneho kamene- 2010, 2011 National Champion Helper for Mike Diehl’s Irmus Galan Nalag- 2012, 2013 Working Dog Champion, 2013 FCI World Championships 4 th place.
