Impressive exhibit: At NPE in Orlando, an El-Exis SP with a clamping force of 4,500 kN and a 96-cavity injection mould<br />
of Schöttli AG produced screw caps in a cycle time of only 1.95 seconds.<br />
the 250 g bowls made of polypropyl<strong>en</strong>e<br />
with a shot weight of 14.2 g in a cycle<br />
time of approx. 3 seconds. In addition<br />
to the 2,000 kN size, an El-Exis SP with<br />
a clamping force of 4,500 kN was also<br />
shown at the NPE.<br />
<strong>Sumitomo</strong> (<strong>SHI</strong>) <strong>Demag</strong> was repres<strong>en</strong>ted<br />
at the Chinaplas from 18 to 21 April in<br />
Shanghai jointly with its Japanese par<strong>en</strong>t<br />
company, <strong>Sumitomo</strong> Heavy Indus-<br />
tries (<strong>SHI</strong>) and <strong>Demag</strong> Ningbo. In addition<br />
to three exhibits from <strong>SHI</strong>, two machines<br />
of the Systec C series from <strong>Sumitomo</strong><br />
(<strong>SHI</strong>) <strong>Demag</strong> could also be inspected.<br />
The version of the hydraulic series<br />
especially adapted to meet the needs<br />
of the Chinese and Asian market is manufactured<br />
at the Ningbo site and is to<br />
be offered covering the <strong>en</strong>tire clamping<br />
force range from 500 to 10,000 kN within<br />
the pres<strong>en</strong>t year. A Systec 100-430 C<br />
demonstrated in Shanghai the high<br />
precision of this machine, which was<br />
used to produce needle covers made of<br />
polypropyl<strong>en</strong>e and which was equipped<br />
to handle the finished parts with an<br />
S5 linear robot from Sepro Robotique.<br />
Speed and <strong>en</strong>ergy effici<strong>en</strong>cy were at<br />
the heart of a pres<strong>en</strong>tation of a Systec<br />
160-600 C, which manufactured a 7 g<br />
heavy container lid made of polypropyl<strong>en</strong>e<br />
in a cycle time of 3.2 seconds. •<br />
