performances by conductor, composer and educator
Thomas Juneau. Committed to bringing outstanding choral
music to people of all ages, Dr. Juneau performs with a
variety of ensembles in the Northeast. In addition to his
responsibilities as Artistic Director of Summit Chorale,
now entering its 102nd season, Dr. Juneau is also Director
throughout the world.
Prior to leading Summit Chorale, Dr. Juneau was director of the Rutgers University
Choir, and began such choral traditions as the annual Rutgers Choral Extravaganza.
Before to moving to New Jersey, Dr. Juneau was Artistic Director of the Cincinnati
included a symphonic chorus for performances of works such as Haydn’s Creation.
With the CBOC Dr. Juneau led performances of masterworks including Monteverdi’s
Vespro della Beata Virgine (1610), Handel’s Messiah and Dixit Dominus, Mozart’s
Requiem and J.S. Bach’s Magnificat and Mass in B Minor.
Dr. Brian Katona
Principal Accompanist
conductor and pianist including appearances in Berlin,
Venlo, Utrecht, Lucca, Cincinnati, Los Angeles and New
York. His repertoire includes standard symphonic works
with a strong emphasis on new music. His ensembles have
performed at the Hollywood Bowl, Walt Disney Concert
Hall and Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles. He has
also prepared choruses for performances at Lincoln Center
and Carnegie Hall in New York.
As a composer, Dr. Katona’s compositions and arrangements have been performed
throughout the country including prominent venues in Los Angeles, New York and at

the Aspen Music Festival. His music has also appeared on television and in film.
Dr. Katona holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Conducting from Rutgers
University. Conducting mentors include Xian Zhang, Patrick Gardner, Craig Arnold,
Earl Rivers and Mark Gibson. He has also studied composition under Charles
Fussell, Bruce Broughton and Jeff Rona. Dr. Katona has been the winner of various
piano and conducting awards throughout his career and continues performing as an
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one horse open sleigh
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one horse open sleigh.
Dashing through the snow
In a one horse open sleigh
O’er the fields we go
Laughing all the way
Bells on bob tails ring
Making spirits bright
What fun it is to laugh and sing
A sleighing song tonight.
Now the ground is white,
Go it while you’re young.
Take the reins tonight,
Sing this sleighing song.
Get a bobtailed bay,
Two-forty as his speed.
Hitch him to an open sleigh
And CRACK! You’ll take the lead!
