DESIGN + CREATION
For a scented candle to be truly beautiful, it must smell exquisite, be visually enticing, maintain its beauty for the life of
the candle, and of course be harmless. Careful design and stringent guidelines must be followed. Nothing has been
spared in the creation of our candles.
WAX, WICK AND AROMA
Our wax is a creamy blend of 100% botanical waxes (from plants) and contains absolutely no paraffin (from petroleum),
so no black soot or harmful fumes. The creamy texture and colour variations are a natural result of the combination of
waxes. An artful blend of delicate perfumes and essential oils saturate the wax ensuring a delicious scent. The botanical
waxes and oils mean our candles burn at lower temperatures; as the scent continues to develop, even the most
delicate scent notes are detectable for the life of the candle. Jaye Niemi candles are created using 100% cotton wicks
and pre-coated in wax to give it the strength needed to “stand” during creation, not relying on lead or plastics. Each
candle is individually hand poured and finished.
CARING FOR YOUR CANDLE
• Glass and molten wax can be hot, please handle with care
• Never leave a candle burning unattended
• Burn candle for a minimum of 3 hours each time
• Keep wick trimmed to approx 1 cm and burn away from drafts
• Store your candle upright and out of direct sunlight
• To snuff your candle, dip lit wick into the melt pool
- eliminates smokiness when candle is “blown out”
• To clean your candle, wipe over top of cooled
candle wax and inside or jar if necessary using
stocking or muslin, and remove burnt wick from
wax pool

BENEFITS OF A CANDLE BURNING AT A LOWER TEMPERATURE
Essential oils and fine fragrance are very delicate and one of the quickest ways
to destroy them, ironically is by adding heat! Our own blend of botanical waxes
burns at a lower temperature than most waxes. This means the delicate top
notes (often lost once a candle is lit) are detected beautifully. The result is
not only a stronger fragrance, but a more sophisticated aroma because the full
scent can be enjoyed - from the heady top notes right through to the weighty
base notes. A cooler flame means a cooler glass jar and a safer candle.
