Please note<br />
• A fee is payable with this application.<br />
• It is in your interest to ensure ship identifiers are taken from the ship<br />
(not paperwork or previous registration).<br />
• All ships including hovercrafts with a motor of 3kw (over 4hp) and over<br />
must be registered.<br />
• Capacity labels must be displayed on all registrable recreational vessels<br />
except sailing vessels (powered or otherwise).<br />
• The owner/master is responsible for attaching the capacity label to the boat<br />
before it enters the water.<br />
• The owner/master of the personal watercraft (PWC) must ensure a Ride<br />
Smart sticker is displayed.<br />
• It is an offence to operate a PWC without a Ride Smart sticker displayed.<br />
• The owner/master of a ship must not operate a ship unless the ship is safe.<br />
A ship is safe if it is seaworthy and is appropriately equipped and crewed,<br />
to meet the ordinary perils of the voyage on which the ship is proceeding or<br />
about to proceed.<br />
• An Australian Builders Plate is required on ships built and offered for sale<br />
after 28 September 2006.<br />

Proof of origin of the ship (this may be a Bill of Sale; Certificate of <strong>Registration</strong>;<br />
receipt from an auction; beneficiary of estate; etc.) if the Department of Transport<br />
and Main Roads has no record of previous registration.<br />

<strong>Ship</strong>s over 15m in length must complete an <strong>Application</strong> for New or Transfer of<br />
Ownership or Change of particulars of <strong>Recreational</strong> <strong>Ship</strong>s 15 metres in length and<br />
over (F4367) and have it stamped by Marine Safety <strong>Queensland</strong> prior to registration.<br />
