By RON DINTEMANN
Last summer, I attended the National
Student Council Convention
which was held in Janesville. The
convention was held in the Janesville
High School which is very
beautiful inside
and out.
I left Madison
at 3:00 in the afternoon
on Sunday,
June 19,
with Mr. Wendt.
his wife and a
foreign exchange
student
from West. We
arrived at the
school about Diitemefan
5:00. Shortly after we arrived, we
registered. This was the last time
I saw Mr. Wendt until we left on
June 23. After registering, I was
taken to the house where I was to
stay during the convention.
The first meeting that I attended
was a general assembly. This was
held at 10:30 on Monday morning.
This meeting was very colorful
when the state flags were introduced.
Although this was the most
important part of the first general
assembly, we were also entertained
by a few distinguished speakers. In
the afternoon we had group discussions
which lasted from 1:30 to
3:30. From 3:30 till 5:00 most of us
were in the recreation room where
there were records, ping pong
tables, and free refreshments. Between
5:00 and 6:00 we ate in the
school cafeteria. After that we had
another assembly.
Tuesday morning we went on a
We also had an assembly that night.
Wednesday we' went through the
there was a dance at the school
in the gym.
Thursday morning was our last
day and we only had a closing general
assembly.
I had a swell time down there
that will be useful to me as
