Caring for Children Here in Montana 

St. Vincent Healthcare has embarked on a bold vision for pediatric 

care. In collaboration with other hospitals and healthcare providers 

across Montana and the surrounding region, we have established 

St. Vincent Children’s Healthcare – an initiative to improve access 

to, and the quality of, healthcare for children throughout Montana 

and beyond. It is only through visionary philanthropy that we will 

accomplish our quest to provide the highest quality of care to the 

children of our region.

Dr. Tarif Bakdash is the only pediatric 

neurologist in Montana, Wyoming and 

Idaho. Dr. Bakdash’s commitment to his 

young patients is critical to the mission 

of St. Vincent Children’s Healthcare – 

healing kids close to home.

Dr. Rani Kesavulu left UCLA’s Pediatric 

Intensive Care Unit in 2008 on a mission 

to lead a team of doctors committed to 

keeping hundreds of children in Montana 

for medical treatment. She was recently 

named the Medical Director of St. Vincent 

Children’s Healthcare Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, the only 

such program in Montana and Wyoming. Dr. Kesavulu has been 

successful in her personal mission.

giving campaign. Nearly $3.5 million dollars

employees invested over $255,000 in patient 

compassion, employee crisis and community 

youth programs. Their combined donations to 

the United Way Annual Campaign made them

cutting edge surgical care through the da Vinci robotic 

surgical system – a project fully funded by St. Vincent 

Healthcare Foundation. Robotic surgeries allow for better 

surgical outcomes, reduced recovery times and technology 

applications found in only the best medical centers in the 

U.S. Urological applications in adults and children along with 

gynecological surgeries are successfully completed via the 

robot at St. Vincent Healthcare each day.

2011 events 

The annual St. Vincent Healthcare 

Foundation Fortin Memorial Golf 

Tournament raises funds to support 

St. Vincent Children’s Healthcare. Through 

this project, St. Vincent Healthcare is able 

to care for critically ill and injured children 

right here at home. The 31st annual 

tournament will be held at Yellowstone 

Country Club on June 27, 2011. 

This year marks the 10th Anniversary 

of the St. Vincent Healthcare Foundation 

Marynell Heringer Women’s Golf 

Tournament, benefiting Women’s Health. 

Proceeds from the tournament will be used 

to purchase robotic surgical equipment 

for OB/GYN procedures. The tournament 

will be held at Laurel Golf Club on 

July 11, 2011. 

The 33rd Annual St. Vincent Healthcare 

Foundation SAINTS Ball will support the 

Orthopedic Center of Excellence initiative 

within St. Vincent Healthcare. This premier

Ball will be held at the Holiday Inn Trade 

Center on October 1, 2011. 

Warm up those vocal chords and join us 

at the 2011 Messiah Festival. Tickets are 

free to the public, and all funds support 

operation of the Meadowlark House, free 

cancer patient lodging facility, providing 

a “home away from home” for traveling 

cancer patients. This 17th annual holiday 

tradition is held on Sunday, December 4, 

at the Alberta Bair Theater. Watch for the 

Art from the Heart art auction in October.
