Van Gogh to Munch
The Museum’s Benefactors Circle, Director’s Patron, and Curators’ Patron
members clinked glasses at the opening for Van Gogh to Munch: European
Masterworks from the Armand Hammer Foundation and Sarah Campbell Blaffer
Foundation during a glittering cocktail reception. The event showcased the
ravishing collections on loan from the two foundations. The exhibition was made
possible through the generosity of Lady Leslie Ridley-Tree.

*Dead Artists Society (D.A.S.) focuses on the areas of 19thand
early 20th-century American and European art. D.A.S.
provides support for the Museum’s Chief Curator Eik Kahng
and her vision for the programming associated with these
areas. D.A.S. offers unprecedented access to curators and
conservators at museums both locally, nationally, and abroad.
Members will enjoy sneak previews of exhibitions, specially
organized trips to attend major art fairs, and rarely seen private

Mystery in Masterpieces
The Women’s Board hosted its ever-popular Mystery
in Masterpieces with a glitzy party complete with a
mystery hunt promised by Clue Master Jamie Fleming to
stump even the most seasoned mystery hunt participant,
delectable tapas and desserts flowing throughout the
evening, silent auction hosted by Tiffany & Company,
and a drawing for Platinum Passes to the 2012 Santa
Barbara International Film Festival. Museum Director
Larry Feinberg expressed, “It was everything that we
had hoped for — fun, glamorous, and thoughtprovoking!”
Proceeds raised from the event support
acquisitions, exhibitions, special projects, and education
programs. The Women’s Board is a major sponsor for
Picasso and Braque: The Cubist Experiment, 1910 – 1912.
