• The MPO can be en<strong>for</strong>ced on and off base.<br />
• An MPO cannot be issued aga<strong>in</strong>st a civilian, even if the victim is military.<br />
• MPO paperwork must be destroyed six months after expiration, so encourage victims to<br />
keep a copy if proof of the order would be helpful <strong>in</strong> the future.<br />
• If the military member is transferred to a new command, MPO expires.<br />
• How to Apply: Command<strong>in</strong>g Officers can issue a MPO at the request of a victim,<br />
victim advocate, law en<strong>for</strong>cement, or Family Advocacy Program staff.<br />
• En<strong>for</strong>cement of MPO is totally at the discretion of the Command<strong>in</strong>g Officer.<br />
