Konica Minolta’s award-winning bizhub PRO 1050, renowned for impressive
speed, reliability and versatility now has an additional new accessory, the
Perfect Binder PB-501 with which the system’s generous range of finishing
capabilities now becomes truly exceptional.
The PB-501 integrates the hotmelt technology into a fully automated, perfect
production binding process – a unique combination providing unmatched
production flexibility paired with attractive low running costs.
Hotmelt is a gluing technology that guarantees
outstanding reliability and perfect binding:
even in books of several hundred pages, each
individual sheet is bound so securely that
manuals, handbooks, reports etc. will still hold
firm after constant use. At the same time, the
hotmelt process is extremely flexible, enabling
automatic production of books with varying
thickness: sheets can be bound between a
minimum of 15 sheets and a maximum up to
30 mm spine width – including z-folded sheets.
Automatic in-line trimming of covers to the
exact size required ensures sophisticated print
products every time!
The new Perfect Binder attractively enhances
the scope of the bizhub PRO 1050 – making

perfect binding system just continues to produce

bound books in next to no time. The integrated
workflow assures that both long and short production
runs are completed quickly and efficiently.
Flexible and economical
Among the different binding processes hotmelt
gluing is the most economical. It is highly flexible
because the gluing procedure is independent
of the thickness of the book spine, simplifying
the internal production process and minimising
the use of glue. Hotmelt gluing requires no
complicated manual adjustments inside the
equipment or expensive glue strips of varying
widths. Operators are free to attend to other
jobs while at the same time production routines
are streamlined.
Customised to perfection
Book production with the Perfect Binder is truly
versatile and leaves nothing to be desired.
Books are always securely bound to withstand
constant handling – ideal for heavy-duty user
manuals, handbooks, reports and countless
other uses. Z-folded sheets can be automatically
inserted at specified positions and thanks to
digital print production, customisation and
personalisation of book contents and covers are
