Internationally renowned clinician Dr. Kay Redfield

like to announce that free condoms are available
to residents. A box is located just outside
of the computer room in New Leverett. If
the box is empty, please let an AEO member

A Word on Sexual Harassment
From time to time students may find themselves in
instructional situations that are awkward because
of what might be called sexual tension or sexual
harassment. The College has many options for responding
to complaints of sexual harassment by
instructors, both formal and informal, which students
may pursue in consultation with the Office of
the Assistant Dean for Coeducation. But there may
also be occasions in which, for whatever reason, a
student may prefer to talk over an awkward situation
with someone she or he already knows or
trusts. Senior Tutor Glenn Magid and SASH adviser
Kate Holbrook are particularly interested and
able to help students think about how to handle
academic relationships made difficult by sexual
tension. Please do not hesitate to seek help if you

A word about Dual Submission
If you would like to turn in the same or similar work to more
than one course, you must get prior written permission from
both or all the instructors involved. Your instructors expect
that each paper or exercise you turn in is written specially for
that assignment. Under this assumption, failure to get prior
written permission can be deceptive and students who do it
may be required to withdraw by the Administrative Board.
Please note that instructors do not always give permission, and
even when they do give permission, they may ask for a longer or
a somewhat different paper than they expect from students who
write a paper solely for the one course. Thus it is important to
have these conversations well in advance of the paper's due
date(s). If you have any questions at all about this, please see
Senior Tutor Glenn Magid and the instructors involved as soon

Ronal Alkana ate 17 bananas in two minutes.
Croatian soldiers, called Khrvat, were mercenaries in the
Austrian army around 1600. They were known for the attractive
scarves they sported. In the 17th century a unit of French
cavalry adopted their dashing look, especially the scarves. Parisians
soon took up this sartorial touch, calling them khravats,
after their originators. Eventually the word became "cravat"
and the scarves evolved into the modern necktie.
