FHS: District liaison and quality standards<br />
Provide pro-active responses to the management<br />
of detected health problems through effective<br />
liaison between Forest Health Surveillance<br />
staff (and specialists) and District staff. Increase<br />
awareness among field staff of the common<br />
health problems in pine and eucalypt plantations.<br />
Meetings were held in all Districts to review the outcomes of actions<br />
in response to notifications made in 2008-09 and agree to actions in<br />

Review and document current plant biosecurity<br />
arrangements in each jurisdiction, evaluate how<br />
those arrangements capture sector-specific issues<br />
for forestry; identify gaps and propose actions to<br />
improve forest biosecurity.<br />
Interviewed various stakeholders, documenting current biosecurity<br />
structures and functional arrangements in each state, collated information<br />
collected and prepared a draft position paper (including case studies).<br />
Convened workshop (in association with RWG7) to consider priorities for<br />
investment to strengthen forest biosecurity.<br />
Final project <strong>report</strong> written.<br />
Submitted EOI to FWPA for best practise pest risk analysis study.<br />
