The 443 ships with deficiencies had a total of 1784 defects, which is an increase from 2009.<br />
Some improvements were noted in “MARPOL, Annex I”, Stability Structure Related Equipment<br />
deficiencies, although there was an increase in the “Fire Safety Measures” related deficiencies.<br />
However, most deficiencies continue to be related to essential equipment and vessel structure, which<br />
account for 60.6 per cent of total deficiencies.
