Role Summary<br />

The main <strong>role</strong> of the general admin support <strong>volunteer</strong> is to undertake basic admin<br />

and database functions.<br />

The <strong>volunteer</strong> will carry out <strong>volunteer</strong> duties alongside admin staff employed by<br />

ABHB and will also be required to undertake specific tasks as identified below.<br />

Key Tasks<br />

These include but are not exclusive to:<br />

1. Undertaking basic admin duties as advised by the Admin Supervisor<br />

2. Data entry and updates on IT systems within the centre<br />

3. Assisting with the preparation, dissemination and analysis of user surveys<br />

4. Contact families in advance of their appointments to confirm attendance<br />

5. Providing refreshments for meetings<br />

6. Ensuring public areas are tidy and presentable<br />

7. Ensuring the parent area and rooms are tidy and presentable<br />

8. Undertaking weekly toy cleaning in accordance with infection control<br />

procedures<br />

9. Answering any queries that families may have about the centre and it’s facilities<br />

and ensuring that any concerns / issues appropriately directed or addressed<br />

10. To disseminate or direct people to up to date information about activities<br />

taking place in the Centre<br />

Person Specification<br />

We are looking for <strong>volunteer</strong>s who:<br />

Have an ability to engage with people of all ages and abilities<br />

Are outgoing, personable and a good conversationalist<br />

Have good listening skills<br />

Have good basic admin and IT skills<br />

Display honesty and integrity<br />

Show compassion and empathy as the situation requires<br />

Have the ability to make people feel at ease<br />

Present with a smart, neat appearance and professional demeanor<br />

Are polite and courteous at all times, regardless of the situation<br />

Are able to deal calmly with difficult families or visitors


Are willing to go the extra mile, even at busy times<br />

Note:<br />

Serennu is open to the public between the hours of 8.30am and 17.00pm Monday to<br />

Thursday and 8.30am to 16.30pm on a Friday.<br />

Volunteer hours are negotiable, however, we would expect a minimum of one shift<br />

per week to be undertaken by a <strong>volunteer</strong>.<br />

A shift is classed as hours worked between 8.30am and 12.30pm Monday to Friday<br />

or 13.00pm to 17.00pm Monday to Thursday and 13.00pm to 16.30pm on a Friday.<br />

All <strong>volunteer</strong>s will be subject to a current Criminal Records Bureau check and<br />

Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) Children Barred list check.<br />
