species of mammals have been recorded in this national park with an
estimated population of 750 Nilgiri Tahr and also other wild life
including Sambar Deer, Nilgiri langur, Indian Porcupine, Nilgiri Marten
It’s located at a distance of around 13 km from Munnar. The dam is
surrounded by beautiful hills and tea plantations.
Rose Garden is also a popular destination near Mattupetty Dam, an
excellent place for bird watching and trekking.
With its velvet lawns, exotic flora and fauna and the cool mountain air,
