England’s Loveliest
Christmas Market
If you are looking for an inspiring and exceptional Christmas market,
come to Salisbury. Rated by the Daily Telegraph in 2013 as one of the
‘Top 5 in the UK’, Salisbury Christmas Market is one of the loveliest and
best quality German-style Christmas markets in the country.
The Christmas Market is located in the historic Guildhall Square and Queen Street and
is a visual delight with chalets decorated with twinkly white lights and swags. From our
new bandstand, choirs, music groups and schools will serenade you with carols and
festive music. There will be storytelling and events for children, a friendly welcome
from stallholders, fine food to tantalise your taste buds and lovely
aromas everywhere.
For 2014, we also have a very special programme
of events celebrating ‘Christmas Traditions from
Europe’.
Two of the highlights of
the Christmas Market
are the spectacular
Lantern Procession
on the first night from
the Cathedral to the
Christmas Market.
On the penultimate
night, there is also a
Torchlight Procession
from the Market
Place back to the
Cathedral.
Traditions
from
Europe
We hope you love our wonderful event!

At the Christmas Market this year, we will
have over 120 exhibitors attending during
the 24 days. Some will only be present for
7 days, others for 14, and some for all 24
days, so do visit more than once!
One of the highlights of the Christmas
Market is the large number of British artists,
craftspeople, designers, makers and small
artisan businesses that will be taking part,
selling goods that have been lovingly
designed and made in this country. Many
others bring more unique products from
Europe. All of them have been especially
selected for the quality of their products,
and we believe you will fi nd them to be
some of the nicest in the country.
