The annual Memorial Day
Clogging Spectacular and Midwest
Clogging Championships celebrated its
fourteenth year with its biggest workshop to
date and a great competition with over 100 team dances.
Hundreds of dancers filled the floor in 5 halls to learn the
latest dances, steps and old-time dances from the staff of
great instructors. The teachers included Sallie Adkins,
Charlie Burns, Scotty Bilz, Mike Curtis, Jeff Driggs, Rob
& Sheryl Keller, Matt Sexton, Buzz & Jessie Venhuizen,
and many more. In addition to two intermediate halls
and an easy hall, dancers enjoyed a traditional hall featuring
all old-time music or traditional clogging styles. Another
hit of the weekend was the challenge floor with
advanced line dances and steps from some of the best
dancers and teachers in clogging, including Stan Webb --
director of the champion Clogging Sensation of Missouri,
Michigan instructors Brian Tucker and Brian Hendershot,
Becca Lee-Roebuck of Tennessee and a high level steps
class with Kelle Graves and Drake Elkin. Needless to
say, there was something for everyone. The Saturday
night fun dance was its usual fun and crazy ride, with a
