Scotty Bilz noted that he
travels to many conventions
worldwide and he has been
convincing people to come to
Nickel City. “It is so pretty here - -
this workshop is the Jewel of the
East Coast - - it’s Southern
hospitality in Yankeeville!” Jeff
Driggs added, “To me the
strength of the Nickel City Festival
is the committee with its
attention to detail. Everything
runs so smoothly and everything
is so well received. You all put on
a good show!” Mike Curtis, with
his first teach here, was surprised
that it was not as cold
here as he expected. He could
not get over how excited the kids
were about clogging which
makes it so very easy to teach. On
her 2nd year here, Missy Shinoski
also noticed how the people just
love to dance, learn quickly, and
have lots of energy. Jill Gunzel,
with her very first visit as a national
instructor, remarked, “I just love
this place, the atmosphere is so
relaxed, the people down to earth,
and everyone here is having such
a good time!”
Many, many special thanks go
out to Ken and Linda Haley and all
their hard-working committee
people, volunteers, and all the
participants who did a fantastic
job coordinating this year’s festival.
This event would not be a
success without their service and
dedication. Thank you to all who
attended and supported our Nickel
City Festival!
Next year we will see a return of
the Saturday night show with
“Party Time” as our theme.
It will also mark the 20th
anniversary of our festival and
will be held on April 6, 7, & 8,
2006, again at the Holiday Inn,
Grand Island, New York. Be sure
to mark your calendars! You
are all invited to join us for
another exciting weekend, and
a very warm welcome awaits
