2012-2013 TUMBLEBEEZ ALLSTAR PACKET
Welcome to The Tumblebeez AllStar program. We are delighted that you have
chosen to become a part of one of the most prestigious AllStar programs in North
Alabama. Our mission at Tumblebeez Cheerleading & Gymnastics is to enrich the
lives of the children and their families through the sport of competitive
cheerleading. Our goal each day is to teach our athletes the value of commitment,
hard work, integrity, leadership, self confidence, positive attitude and a love for
the sport. In addition, we would like to help prepare our team members for the
challenges faced in middle and high school cheerleading. Each and every family is
important to us and our program. We invite you to come and see what it is like to
be Part of the Hive.
Please turn in the Financial Commitment/Credit Card Information Form, Code of
Conduct and Member Information Form along with a photocopy of your
cheerleader’s birth certificate and your tryout fee. Tryout fee is $25.00 per
family. We will be offering a FREE Open Gym Tumbling Class for anyone trying
out for AllStars! It will be held on Monday, April 30, 2012 from 4:30pm -
6:30pm.

Girls and Boys ages 8 years and younger on or before August 31, 2012 :
Wednesday, May 2, 2012 from 4:00pm - 5:30pm and Thursday, May 3, 2012 from
4:00pm - 5:30pm
Girls and Boys 9-11 years of age on or before August 31, 2012:
Wednesday, May 2, 2012 from 5:00pm - 6:30pm and Thursday, May 3, 2012 from
5:00pm - 6:30pm
Girls and Boys 12-14 years of age on or before August 31, 2012:
Wednesday, May 2, 2012 from 6:00pm - 7:30pm and Thursday May 3, 2012 from
6:00 - 7:30pm
Girls and Boys 15-18 years of age on or before August 31, 2012:
Wednesday, May 2, 2012 from 7:00pm - 8:00pm

TUMBLEBEEZ CHEER TRYOUT ATTIRE:
Athletes must wear t-shirt, shorts and tennis or cheer shoes. Athletes should have their hair pulled
away from their face and in a nice high ponytail with a bow. No jewelry please.
TRYOUT NUMBER: Each girl/boy will be given a tryout number during evaluations. This number will
be the number that identifies each athlete during evaluations and will also be posted on the
Tumblebeez website (www.tumblebeez.com). Team placements will be posted prior to 5:00pm on
Friday, May 4, 2012, and we will also post the teams on the front door at the gym.

The sport of competitive cheerleading is not the rah-rah cheerleading of times
past. Todays athletes must perform acrobatic moves, lift team members high in
the air, perform intricate dance and cheer moves, all while doing it with a smile
and making it look effortless.
Tumblebeez Cheer not only trains athletes to be Champions ON THE FLOOR, but to
carry themselves as Champions OFF THE FLOOR. Tumblebeez Cheer athletes are
trained to reach THEIR fullest potential, but more so, they are taught how to work
together as a team for a common goal.
Tumblebeez Cheer has proven that we can provide a competitive edge without
compromising the integrity that TRUE athletes need to posses. Tumblebeez
athletes will be taught solid technique and strong fundamentals in all areas of
competitive cheerleading, yet the most important lessons they will learn are the
priceless life skills that encourage COMMITMENT, SPORTSMANSHIP, RESPECT
FOR SELF and OTHERS. These lessons are taught in a supportive, safe and positive
atmosphere.
This year, we will be adding some exciting new programs and procedures and
giving parents an opportunity to become more involved, if desired. BEEZ will be
implementing the following and much more this season:
★"Team Moms" for each team to help organize fun events and communicate more
effectively within specific team
★ A Suggestion Box so that you may offer your opinion on things that you would
like to see the gym do and/or not do in the future
★ Fund Raisers to help offset the costs associated with AllStars
★A new payment plan structure to help spread the costs out and make it more
manageable
★An AllStar Camp and Stunt Classes will be added at NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE
It is the hope of Tumblebeez Cheer that every member develops lasting
friendships, self confidence, a strong sense of gym pride and great memories that
they will last forever.

that all parents and athletes make when they register to become a member of the
Tumblebeez cheer family.

TUMBLEBEEZ CHEER COACHING PHILOSOPHY
Our coaching philosophy is defined by the following:
• Cheerleading IS a SPORT. We believe that competitive cheerleading is a SPORT and
not an ACTIVITY.
•SPORT [spawrt, spohrt] noun
1. an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive
nature
• We train ATHLETES - Tumblebeez Cheer trains competitive athletes who utilize the
elements and skills of traditional tumbling and cheerleading for competition. Please
understand that athletes must have proper physical conditioning, mental training and
motivation for success in any sport.
• PERFECTION before Progression -Tumblebeez Cheer will not allow athletes to learn
advanced skills before perfecting their basics. Proper technique is everything! Only
PERFECTED skills will be considered in team placements and choreographed into Beez
routines. "Having" a skill does not mean being able to throw it, but it means being able
to execute it with a STRONG level of mastery.
• Athlete CONDITIONING - Injuries are always a concern in cheerleading, and the best
way to avoid them is through proper technique, flexibility and physical conditioning. It
is not possible for an athlete to be in peak physical conditioning if their All-Star
practice is the only physical activity in which they partake.
ATTENDANCE POLICY:
At registration, you are making a commitment for the 2012-2013 competition
season. Our season starts in May 2012 and continues through April 2013. To be
a competitive cheerleader, it takes a lot of practice and training. The "TEAM"
aspect of competitive cheerleading makes it a very unique sport. No other sport
utilizes every member at once. There is no "bench" or substitutes. Please
understand that even one team member missing from practice/competition
adversely affects the entire team and excessive absences WILL NOT BE
TOLERATED. Of course, people go on vacations, get sick, etc. We simply ask that
you notify your coach when these things occur.
Tumblebeez Cheer will strive to keep extra practices to a minimum, but this can
ONLY be accomplished if everyone shows up at their regularly scheduled practices.
You can expect some extra practices, especially as we get close to competitions.
All extra practices are mandatory and FREE!

TUMBLEBEEZ CHEER EVALUATIONS & TEAM PLACEMENT:
Tumblebeez Cheer tryout process is an evaluation and placement rather than a
“make or don't make” tryout process. Tumblebeez Cheer strongly believes that
ANYONE WHO WANTS TO CHEER SHOULD HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO DO SO.
Athletes will be evaluated by a panel of BEEZ staff over a 2 day period consisting
of multiple workouts. They will be asked to show skills such as jumps, tumbling
and stunting. Workout evaluations will give coaches time to truly evaluate the
skills of each athlete. Unlike in the past, athletes will need to do more than hit the
skill once at tryouts to be placed. Once athletes have completed the evaluation
process, the BEEZ staff will place athletes on the appropriate team.
Teams are constructed to score as high as possible in competition. The ability to
maximize the score sheet is key to the success of the team. All athletes will have
the minimum tumbling AND stunting requirements for their level. Some athletes
may tumble slightly higher than the minimum requirements. Please trust the BEEZ
Cheer staff to build teams that will be successful at competitions.
TRYOUT RESULTS:
All teams will be created with the goal of PROGRAM SUCCESS. Each athlete will
be placed in the BEST situation for them, as well as, the Tumblebeez Cheer
Family. Individual talent, age of athletes, and number of athletes per team are a
few of the factors in creating the final BEEZ teams.
CHEER DIVISIONS:
Tumblebeez will create teams that fit into standard USASF division requirements.
Teams will be created with FUN and WINNING in mind. Teams will be created with
the understanding that maximum skill level in the division BY ALL MEMBERS of
the team is a must for the overall success of the team. Please note that athletes
will be placed according to AGE and SKILL. There may be a FEW rare exceptions
where an athlete is placed out of AGE guidelines (for example, a mini aged child
being placed on a youth team).

PARENT MEETING:
Tumblebeez will hold informational parent meetings after to tryouts. You are only
required to attend 1 of the meetings. These meetings will help give a clear view of
the Tumblebeez Cheer program, expectations of the season and answer any
questions you may have. This meeting is for both new and old parents as many
policies have changed.
• Monday - May 7th (4:00pm or 6:00pm)
• Friday - May 11th (5:30pm)
CHOREOGRAPHY CAMP:
JULY 30th - AUGUST 4th ***CAMP IS MANDATORY***
Please plan all vacations and summer camps around the choreography camp dates.
Each team will have choreography practices 3-4 days during this time. We ask
that you are available all days during the choreography camp week. Any conflicts
for choreography camp must be submitted to Tumblebeez Cheer at the first parent
meeting.
SHOE & UNIFORM FITTING:
Shoe fitting will be Wednesday, May 16, 2012 from 4:00pm-5:30pm and
Thursday, May 17, 2012 from 5:00pm-6:30pm at Tumblebeez gym. Uniform
fitting date will be announced at the upcoming parent meeting.
COMPETITION SCHEDULE:
Specific competitions will be decided over the summer and will be discussed during
the parent meeting. Last season, we attended Athletic Championships in
Chattanooga, Sevierville and Destin. We also attended 2 one day competitions in
Birmingham.

ALL payments will be made to Tumblebeez, Inc. Your monthly fee includes:
★ All team practices and gymnastics classes:
•Each team will meet for 3 - 3.5 hours per week.
•Tiny cheer team will meet for a minimum of 2 hours per week
★ AllStar Stunt Camp
★ Choreography Fees
★ Music Fees
★ Competition Fees
Not included: Uniforms, shoes, competition bow, practice clothes, etc. These items will
be ordered separately as needed. Travel expenses, registration fee and banquet are also
not included. A $50.00 registration fee will be due within one week of team placement
to accept your position on the team (this fee is per family, not per cheerleader).
Monthly fees are due on or before the 10th of each month. Any monthly fees that have
not been received by the 12th will be deducted from the credit/debit card you provided
in your tryout packet. You may pay in person or through our website at
www.tumblebeez.com beginning June 2012. Tumblebeez accepts check, cash, money
orders and Visa/Master Card. If you have any questions about your account, please feel
free to call the front desk at 256-837-1291.
There will be no refunds made to anyone who is asked to leave the program or who quits
a team. If there is a financial problem, please contact the office immediately. Your
coach will not be able to advise you on these matters.

Acknowledgement 2012 – 2013 Season
_____ I will not be involved in any matter of disrespect towards any members of the
Tumblebeez Cheer staff, parents, or athletes.
_____ I will not use inappropriate language and I will behave in a manner that respects
myself, Tumblebeez Cheer and the sport.
_____ Anyone threatening to quit or pull their child from a squad may be dismissed from
the program immediately.
_____ I understand that a competition is not the proper place to discuss with staff issues I
may have, and instead I will schedule a meeting to be held at a later date.
_____ I understand the importance of punctuality and will arrive at all scheduled events
and practices on time dressed in the appropriate uniform or practice wear.
_____ I will not participate in negative gossip or communications that adversely affect
Tumblebeez Cheer. This includes, but is not limited to, email, verbally to other
individuals, Facebook, Twitter, chat rooms or other websites.
_____ I will not post any Tumblebeez Cheer music, choreography, routines, stunts, etc.

_____ I understand all Tumblebeez material (cheers, chants, pyramids, stunts, transitions,
dances, music, routines, etc.) may not be used or taught for any purpose to anyone
outside of the Tumblebeez Cheer All-Star Program.

Tumblebeez, Inc., and may not be sold or produced without prior written consent from
Tumblebeez, Inc. Any violation of this agreement may result in legal action. (ex. Logo,

competition companies or their officials for any reason. Please contact Tumblebeez if
you have questions or comments relating to competition companies or their officials.
_____ I have read all pages of the 2012 – 2013 Tumblebeez Cheer All-Star Packet and
will abide by its contents.
I understand and agree to this “Code of Conduct and Financial Obligation”
throughout the 2012 – 2013 season and that failure to comply with this Code of
Conduct can result in disciplinary action which could mean removal from the
program with no refund of any monies paid to Tumblebeez, including pre-paid fees.
