Designed for flexibility The DBS100 Broadcast Server is a key component in the Factum range of products, also including encoders and decoders, dynamic range controller, data transport adapter, DAB broadcast multiplexers. Based on functional modules the complete service provider concept is extremely flexible and easy to integrate. The DBS100 Broadcast server handles both PAD and Packet Mode data services conforming to the Eureka 147 DAB standard.The unit can be installed with up to 16 PAD ports and a DTA10B board for packet mode data, thus serving a complete DAB ensemble with necessary data services. The DBS100 uses a Client/Server architecture and is based on Windows NT industrial PC.This makes installation and maintenance in LAN networks flexible and easy. All control and monitoring can be achieved from a remote location in a LAN network. DBS100 D A B B R O A D C A S T S E R V E R The server supports configuration scheduling and dynamic reconfiguration.The DBS100 can be integrated with management systems for a service- or ensemble multiplex via an open DCOM API. Included with the system is also a configuration client - the Configuration Planner, for manual building and scheduling of configurations. The DBS100 also provides flexible logging possibilities via DCOM API or SNMP which can be supervised from a remote monitoring system. The configuration planner, allows an intuitive building of data service configurations.
Production system integration – the easy way There are several ways of integration with third parties applications via a Studio API.This is an open DCOM or XML API that provides high performance and easy integration with radio broadcast scheduler systems. The DBS100 will theoretically perform a time accuracy greater than 0.5 second using MOT - Slideshow principles. The DBS100 has a built in scheduler that effectively utilises available capacity in the DAB multiplex.The scheduler can be automatically synchronised with the configuration handling in the DAB multiplex for optimal performance thereby increasing security and accessibility for the data services. The scheduler can be used in cooperation with existing multimedia editors. The DBS100 integrates PAD and Packet Mode data services transparently via the Studio API. This allows any MOT data service to be re-directed between the two transport methods without affecting the production systems.This principle increases flexibility and future consistency since all data service production systems are integrated in a single, well defined,API.
