As the demands of life become increasingly complex,
the Counselor Training Center within the
Mary Lou Fulton School Institute of Letters and Graduate and Sciences School
of Education is here for you.
About the Center
The Counselor Training Center (CTC) provides
confidential counseling services for ASU students, faculty,
staff and the larger community. Through the center, clients
receive counseling services to enhance their well-being in
all areas of life: personal, career, relationships and family.
The Counselors
The counselors at the CTC are graduate students working
toward either a master’s degree in Counseling or doctoral
degree in Counseling Psychology. They work under the
close supervision of faculty members who are licensed
psychologists. The counselors in training work with
individuals, couples, and families to help them resolve
personal, career, marital, and adjustment issues that are
barriers to healthy relationships and productive lives.
Services Provided
The counseling provided is directly related to the concerns
presented by the client, including but not limited to:
Depression
Anxiety
Personal problems
Relationships
Family problems
Career counseling
How Services Are Provided
Clients are assigned to a counselor for a semester and
scheduled for standing one-hour weekly appointments for
the duration of the semester. Depending on when a client
initiates services, he or she could receive up to 12 weeks
of services. Clients who wish to continue counseling the
following semester may request to do so.
