procurement. According to a study undertaken by the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply,

Using Equanet’s eCommerce systems is more than 

just buying through a website. Our customers are 

significantly improving their productivity, control 

and performance by looking at our ingenious, but 

simple ways of managing their procurement online.

Integration 

Many of our clients already take advantage of 

the considerable efficiency savings generated by 

integrating systems. This can be as simple as a 

regular delivery of our product catalogue in an 

agreed format so that you can store our product 

information in your systems, through to live and 

seamless links between your procurement system

forefront of using PunchOut technology, a method 

of connecting your system to ours making the 

Equanet website available from your procurement 

system. Depending upon the systems you use 

we can create a paperless and highly efficient 

procurement process which means you lose none

experience of working with many of the electronic 

trading hubs, such as Ariba and Hubwoo, and we 

can work with you to trade with you electronically

Q How does eProcurement save me money? 

A Where you can achieve a much greater saving, is in the time that your staff spend in liaising with your 

suppliers to obtain quotes, entering (or double entering) data into your systems, not to mention the cost 

of telephone calls or sending faxes. 

Q Won’t it mean yet another system to work with and monitor? 

A Depending on the option taken it can actually reduce the tools you have to work with. For example, 

if you are able to take advantage of PunchOut technologies, you are in effect making our website 

available from within your own procurement system. 

Q How much does it cost me to set up and what are the ongoing costs? 

A The work that we do with our clients to set up their preferred eCommerce solution is undertaken free 

of charge, including my time and that of our web design team. There are no ongoing costs for the use 

of our eCommerce systems. 

Q I am concerned about buying online. How safe is the Equanet website? 

A If you are using the website in isolation, each user needs to have a username and password in order 

to gain access to the site. For purchases made using credit cards as means of payment, we use the 

highest levels of security and card validation systems on the market. If you integrate your systems with 

ours using PunchOut, the website is only accessible from your own systems, ensuring tight control of 

who is able to use it. 

Q What happens if I integrate systems now but change them at a later date? 

A We are happy to work with you on an ongoing basis to ensure you can buy as efficiently as 

possible and take advantage of any new technology that your systems can provide. Any updates and 

enhancements to our own facilities are undertaken free of charge and made available to all of our users.

Today, your technology requirements are as unique as your business. 

At Equanet, we’re able to pre-configure hardware to your specific requirements, imaging up to 1000 

machines per day. We have our own purpose built highly secure configuration centre on-site with fully 

trained and experienced technicians able to do pre-delivery inspections to more complex server builds. 

Pre delivery inspection & testing 

Ensuring your equipment arrives in full working order. Between 2% and 5% 

of hardware delivered from manufacturers arrives faulty. Our pre-delivery 

inspection ensures that your new equipment is tested by one of our engineers 

and guarantees that your equipment arrives in full working order and to 

specification. For your inspection we will: 

Take your hardware out of the box and carry out a full cosmetic check for 

any damage 

Power up your hardware and do a full hardware test and BIOS (Basic 

Input/Output system) check 

Check all working and critical components 

Confirm that the product is complete with all its supplied accessories 

Configuration of software and components 

Upgrade your machine. There are numerous reasons why a manufacturer’s 

basic specification may fall short of your particular needs. In these cases 

our experienced engineers can install the latest software and any additional 

hardware components into your equipment. 

Should you wish to increase the memory of your equipment, or even change 

your operating system, we can modify your kit to suit your specific needs. 

Once configured to your requirements, your machine is fully tested, including a 

free pre-delivery inspection. 

System imaging 

Efficient set up of identical systems and software on multiple machines. You’ve 

chosen your hardware, software and operating system. We can set up your 

hard drive to match your requirements, installing the software, systems and 

configurations as specified. An exact copy of this hard drive is made. This 

image can then be transferred on to all PCs, creating as many identical 

computers as required. 

We maintain an image library so that any future purchases of equipment can 

be ordered with your image. The System Imaging Service is designed to save 

you time and ensures users have identical set up, simplifying maintenance and 

support without increasing delivery time to you. 

Asset and security tagging 

Keep track of your equipment. In any business it is important to keep track of 

the IT kit that you have and ensure that the equipment is tagged for security 

purposes. Asset tags are labels which are applied to your hardware – they 

can also feature your company logo to help identify your hardware quickly. 

We apply these tags as a stand-alone service or as part of our other 

installation services. We then provide you with a spreadsheet that details the 

asset numbers against the serial number of the units that we have processed, 

along with the make and model, if required. The report can then be issued 

immediately or at regular intervals throughout a roll out or installation period. 

Server configuration 

Purpose built servers to meet your requirements. We can build bespoke 

purpose built servers. Our qualified engineers can cater for any hardware 

requirement or specification, and build the server you need, including:

Fan kits, processors and RAID controllers 

Operating systems can be installed by special arrangement 

A full pre-delivery inspection is also included, as is a server build and 

specification report, detailing the complete inventory of the specification and 

components within the machine. From hardware upgrades to full server builds, 

Equanet’s purpose-built configuration centre has qualified engineers available 

to prepare your IT equipment before delivery. Whether you need one machine 

or several hundred, we provide a range of pre-delivery services to ensure that 

your IT equipment arrives in full working order to your exact specifications. 

Disposal 

Equanet offers a wide selection of certified services for secure and WEEE 

compliant disposal. We provide logistics and preprocessing in which asset 

details are collected and items are sorted; certified data erasure at different 

levels; recycling at component level; certification of disposal under the 

WEEE Directive. 

We offer clients the choice of on or off site data eradication. It is a fully 

certified, secure solution that gives you peace of mind.

along with the flexibility to suit their timescales. We concentrate on the detail 

too. We have a bespoke asset system with built in error checking, unique 

number formatting, capability to lock to an account and integration into the 

Equanet ERP system at order and product level. 

We complete a project review for all projects, capturing the learning to 

further enhance future projects.

Planning 

Working as part of your project team, our Prince2 

and ITIL project managers adopt a structured 

approach, integrating easily into existing processes 

– ensuring the project or the elements we’re 

responsible for are delivered to plan. We are

We can procure what you need, in the volumes 

you need and then hold them for you in our 

bonded storage facility in our secure warehouse – 

a dedicated 50,000 sq ft facility, with 2,500 pallet 

positions. With direct point to point delivery, we 

pick up to 2,000 orders daily and release stock as 

and when you need or rolled-out it or against the 

project schedule.

or hardware additions and software installations

to image 128 machines simultaneously, we can 

also asset tag and provide the back-up data and

Our team are CRB(E) and SC cleared, fully trained 

and accredited. Our warehouse and head office 

is on a secure site, fully fenced and manned 24 

hours a day. We’re also used to transporting and 

installing high value technology so we adopt best 

practice in everything we do.

We use proven reporting processes to track 

all project documentation, orders, deliveries 

and installations. We use a full project structure 

to manage what we do, with programme 

management, day to day management and QA 

processes, supported by PMO and onsite 

management and project reporting.

include collection of kit, management of data
