• Farmers are not aware of soil testing and water testing and its importance and application of
fertilizers is based on previous experience
• The Cost of transporting vegetables to the city market is a concern area and they are presently
doing it individually.
• 50 Farmers individually from the village are going to city with their produce at midnight 2 A.M to
supply vegetables to the market.
• 6 – 8 tonns of vegetables are supplied to city market every day during crop season.
• There is no collection point / pack houses / cold storage for vegetables in this village.
• Farmers are not wearing the protective gear while spraying the chemicals.
• Farmers are not aware of banned/restricted chemicals and pre harvest practices and they are
presently doing it basing on their traditional knowledge.
• Farmers appreciated about the training content and videos.
• Farmers have agreed to form a cluster under NABARD farmers club for implementing the food
2. To obtain the list of permitted ed chemicals with Pre Harvest Practices from eFresh.
3. To maintain the records as per the Good Agricultural Practices to be given by eFresh.
4. To get their soils tested and use the fertilizers based on the test reports.
5. To Implement Package of Practices as per eFresh guidelines.
• Identified Good potential for developing a cluster of vegetables in Debbadaguda, Manneguda &
Dasarla Palli villages.
• SPAR Retailer in principle agreed to procure the supply from the cluster at the village point, if the
farmers are able to implement Good Agricultural Practices.
• EFresh Recommends to setting up of a small collection point, so that retailers can pickup from a
single point.
Congratulations for launching the Cluster Development Program for Vegetables. It
is a move in the right direction . The enthusiasm of the farmers is encouraging. It is
also observed that the farmers are very forward looking from the perspective of
adaptation of ‘drip irrigation’ and also their observations on use of vermi compost.
It is very essential to formulate a micro level model on interventions that are needed
to develop the cluster.
Besides introducing Good Agricultural Practices, Supply Chain needs to be
strengthened in future ure with technology interventions like Cold Storage and Food
Processing Technologies for increased benefits to Farmers.
