4. Venue No further information regarding the venue at this stage. 5. Sponsorship & Exhibition Update Sponsorship committee will be contacting chemical companies again this month as it is the new financial year. Application to HAL in progress and will hopefully generate $35,000 in sponsorship. ACTION: • Sponsorship committee to follow up chemical companies 6. Timeline Timeline tracking well – items of interest for August: Conlog to obtain AV quotes Committee to identify official guests for conference opening and social functions Committee to identify musicians/entertainment and send suggestions to Rachel Conlog to obtain conference insurance quote ACTION: • Conlog to obtain AV quotes • Conlog to obtain conference insurance quote • Committee to identify official guests for conference opening & social functions • Committee to identify musicians/entertainment for social functions & send suggestions to Rachel 7. Budget No changes to the budget at this stage. 16 registrations received to date. 8. Social Program No further update on Social Program. Refer action items under timeline. 9. Scientific Program Update Mark advised that all plenary speakers have been contacted and have received both formal and informal acceptances from all speakers. Mark receiving bio’s and pictures for the website and will follow up on those not received. Once all received Mark to send all speaker details to Conlog to post on website and log in database. 4 nominees have been received for the McApline Lecture. Mark to distribute nominees CV’s to program committee for decision. Program committee will also identify chairpersons for concurrent sessions. ACTION: • Mark to follow up on speaker bio’s and pictures and send to Conlog once received • Conlog to post speaker information on website once received • Program committee to choose a nominee for the McAlpine Lecture • Program committee to identify chairpersons for concurrent sessions
10. Workshops No changes to the workshops at this stage. Charles Darwin University will possibly have in-kind sponsorship for use of their rooms for the workshops. Workshop preference selection now on website. 11. Other Business Local Darwin committee looking into speaker gift ideas and obtaining quotes. Conlog to send pricing and ideas on gifts used for previous conference in Darwin to Lucy and Rachel. ACTION: • Conlog to send pricing on speaker gift ideas from previous conference to Lucy & Rachel 12.
