CPD Points<br />
All delegates should be aware that attendance<br />
to each session of the Conference will be<br />
electronically recorded through a bar-coding<br />
process, implemented for the first time in 2009.<br />
The process involves each delegate swiping<br />
their barcode, which will be located on their<br />
Conference pass, as they enter the sessions. It<br />
is the responsibility of the delegate to ensure<br />
that their barcode has been swiped at the point<br />
of entry. It is essential that delegates arrive<br />
on time for sessions, as late entrants may not<br />
be given opportunity to swipe their barcode.<br />
The Conference organisers will then use this<br />
electronic database to distribute attendance<br />
certificates. Any delegate, who was not swiped<br />
into a session, will not be issued with an<br />
attendance certificate.<br />
Smoking<br />
The Conference venue is a non-smoking<br />
establishment and laws prohibit smoking within<br />
4 metres of an entrance to a resort. However,<br />
for accommodation purposes, the Marriott<br />
Resort offers smoking and non-smoking<br />
rooms, please specify your preferences in the<br />
accommodation component via the designated<br />
Conference Accommodation portal.<br />
Babysitting<br />
No formal babysitting arrangements have been<br />
established by the Conference Organisers. This<br />
service can be arranged on an individual basis<br />
through the Resort.<br />
Interpreting Services<br />
Interpreting services are the responsibility of the<br />
delegate.<br />
Special Requirements<br />
Delegates who have special needs, or dietary<br />
requirements should note specific details in<br />
the space provided on the registration form to<br />
ensure the best assistance from the Conference<br />
Organisers.<br />
Breakfast<br />
A discounted breakfast rate in the Lagoon<br />
Restaurant on the Lobby floor will be offered to<br />
all Conference delegates upon presentation of<br />
their nametag. The buffet breakfast rate will be<br />
$30pp and the continental breakfast rate will be<br />
$25pp. The restaurant opens for breakfast from<br />
7:00am until 10:30am everyday.<br />
Climate<br />
It’s Spring in the month of September on the<br />
Gold Coast which sees temperatures between<br />
15° and 25°.<br />
Airport Transfers<br />
The Conference does not provide transfers from<br />
the airport to hotels. All delegates must make<br />
their own arrangements.<br />
Dress Code<br />
The dress requirement for the Calypso Dinner<br />
at the Wharf on the Monday evening is smart<br />
casual (flat shoes recommended) and the Black<br />
& White Gala Dinner on the Wednesday is formal<br />
attire, however attendees are encouraged to<br />
come in black & white to compliment the theme<br />
of the evening. Beyond that ‘Queensland<br />
casual’ attire is recommended for all Conference<br />
sessions and at the Sunday Welcome Reception.<br />
Privacy Information<br />
When you register for the BAF 2011 Conference,<br />
the information collected is confidential and will<br />
not be disclosed to third parties without your<br />
consent, except:<br />

regulatory authority requirements;<br />

personal information to third parties to<br />
provide the service you have requested; and<br />
<br />
via email where you have indicated this as<br />
your preference to received them in the<br />
registration form.<br />
