This famous Ivy-League University campus
is situated in Upper Manhattan. Columbia
stretches across several blocks, and with its
colleges, stores, snack bars and restaurants
it is a small village in its own right. The
American Language Program (ALP) is an
integral part of the university’s green, leafy
Morningside Heights Campus.

Accommodation
In simply-furnished student residences throughout the year, plus more
comfortable air-conditioned residences in summer. From the accommodation
to the ALP is no more than a 10-minute walk. Note: the precise
accommodation available for summer is only known very shortly
before the course. Priority is given in order of booking date. If you
booked late, and there is a difference between the accommodation you
booked and that which is actually available, any difference in price will
be regulated by the university with a local refund or surcharge.
Activities
Sporting events, films and concerts on campus. Contact with student
organisations. New York night life, restaurants, bars, jazz clubs,
weekend trips to Boston, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, the Niagara
Falls and Toronto.

Compulsory Health Insurance:
Approx. USD 450 health fee per student per
term and medical insurance approx. USD 900
(fall) to USD 1,500 (spring) unless an
independent inter national insurance policy
purchased fits the requirements to waive the
University insurance. The comparability requirements
are available on the university Health
Service website www.health.columbia.edu.
Com pulsory Health Insurance and Compulsory
Health Service have to be paid for each term on
site.
