Christmas Market <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> Old Town & Marktplatz<br />
Sat 15 Nov. 2014 5.30 pm and 6 pm<br />
These Christmas markets both open <strong>in</strong> traditional and contemplative<br />
style. The Christmas Market <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> Old Town is <strong>the</strong> first to<br />
open with <strong>the</strong> traditional sounds of <strong>the</strong> tower trumpeters before<br />
<strong>the</strong> Christmas tree <strong>in</strong> front of <strong>the</strong> Golden Roof is illum<strong>in</strong>ated with<br />
more than 1,300 lights. The procession cont<strong>in</strong>ues to <strong>the</strong> Christmas<br />
Market at <strong>the</strong> Marktplatz Square, which will open with a spectacular<br />
sensation aga<strong>in</strong> this year. The unveil<strong>in</strong>g of <strong>the</strong> Swarovski<br />
Star is <strong>the</strong> highlight of <strong>the</strong> open<strong>in</strong>g festivities.<br />
Hungerburg Christmas Market<br />

The traditional open<strong>in</strong>g of this market takes place with a magnificent<br />
view across <strong>the</strong> whole city, with <strong>the</strong> tree lights be<strong>in</strong>g switched<br />
on this year by Mayor Christ<strong>in</strong>e Oppitz-Plörer. The children’s choir<br />
provides musical accompaniment to <strong>the</strong> programme.<br />
Christmas Magic <strong>in</strong> Wilten<br />

Christmas magic beg<strong>in</strong>s <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> district of Wilten on 20 November.<br />
