FOREWORD<br />

PAUL COSTELLOE IRISH AMERICAN ROOTS<br />

Paul’s history with New York began when his grandfather, Michael<br />

Joseph Curran went to New York with an Athletics/Hurling Team in the<br />

1890’s. While there he met Allen Frances Coyle, a native of the city, and<br />

decided to stay. They married in 1899. Paul’s mother Katherine Easter<br />

Curran was born in 1902. The family prospered running a successful<br />

licensed bar.<br />

When Katherine visited Dublin for the Horse Show in 1925, she met<br />

Paul’s father, William J. Costelloe. The two married in New York in 1926.<br />

The bride wore April cream silk satin and carried a bouquet of orange<br />

blossom.<br />

The groom and groomers carried blackhorn sticks with silver tops.<br />

They returned to Ireland and raised seven children, Paul being the<br />

youngest, with William J building a successful manufacturing . company,<br />

Valstar. The company was a mainstay of the raincoat and outerwear<br />

industry.

Dublin born Paul Costelloe is one of the most established names in British<br />

Fashion. With his strong sense of style and the desire to create wearable<br />

designs for the modern global customer, it is easy to see why Paul<br />

Costelloe has been the head of such a successful label for over 30 years.<br />

The Award winning label has expanded it’s business throughout the years<br />

and now holds it’s name in ladies wear to menswear, jewellery to eyewear,<br />

corporate wear, luxury accessories and the ever popular Paul Costelloe<br />

Living homewares line.<br />

Heritage is one of the key philosophies which the label thrives from. With<br />

six sons and one daughter, Paul sees the importance of family heritage<br />

which can help to carry a brand through the good times and the bad. This<br />

philosophy will keep the Costelloe name alive as a family run business,<br />

which holds so much value and untapped potential.

The Paul Costelloe Menswear Collection has had huge success due to the combination<br />

of luxurious natural fabrics, modern cuts and classic tailoring: all of<br />

which are Costelloe trademarks. It has become a regular feature of the Costelloe<br />

catwalk shows at London Fashion Week and first appeared for the<br />

Spring/Summer 2010 Collection. In 2012, the collection started to show at the<br />

London Collections: Men, enjoying a wealth of press interest and coverge. With<br />

a strong emphasis on heritage the “Slim Fit” line has been a prominent aspect<br />

of the collection, highlighting the the ideals of family and tradition which Paul<br />

himself sees as so important today.<br />

Paul Costelloe Menswear is sold across the globe in some of the most<br />
