Your new home
Living away from home: it is a major part of the university
experience. Here is some key information which will hopefully
answer your questions. Please get in touch to find out more.
if you ARE an undergraduate STUDENT
You may live in residences on campus. These overlook the
loch and are just a few minutes’ walk from all main facilities.
Alternatively, if you would prefer flat accommodation off
campus, this can also be provided. Residences have 24-hour
staff on hand to ensure a safe and secure environment. In
addition, communal self-catering kitchen facilities create a
superb social atmosphere.
You will be guaranteed accommodation in your first year,
provided an online application is received by 25 August.
If you’re coming here from outside the EU, you’ll be
guaranteed accommodation each year.
if you ARE a postgraduate STUDENT
You have the chance to stay in accommodation specifically
reserved for postgraduate students. We aim to offer these
rooms to everyone who applies.
These are usually shared flats or houses off campus,
within easy reach of both the University and city centre.
if you ARE a study abroad student
You are guaranteed University-owned or managed
accommodation, either on or off campus. You will normally be
offered a room in an apartment sharing with other students.

what are the rooms like?
We offer a wide range. Altogether, we provide just under
2,000 places on the main campus, and a further 800 places
in shared flats in Stirling and nearby Bridge of Allan.
Largely rooms are a single study bedroom with shared
kitchen/bathroom facilities. There are also some en suite
rooms. Nearly all are networked, so you can link your PC
to our high-speed network. The majority of the campus is
suitable for wheelchairs and some accommodation has
specially adapted facilities. Please contact residential services
as soon as possible to discuss your requirements.
what about food?
All our accommodation is self-catering, with shared kitchen
facilities. There are several supermarkets near the University,
plus a range of independent and speciality food shops.
If you prefer not to cook, there are plenty of on-campus
catering outlets offering good value food. We offer student
discounts to help your money go that little bit further.
