Your new home<br />
Living away from home: it is a major part <strong>of</strong> the university<br />
experience. Here is some key information which will hopefully<br />
answer your questions. Please get in touch to find out more.<br />
if you ARE an undergraduate STUDENT<br />
You may live in residences on campus. These overlook the<br />
loch and are just a few minutes’ walk from all main facilities.<br />
Alternatively, if you would prefer flat accommodation <strong>of</strong>f<br />
campus, this can also be provided. Residences have 24-hour<br />
staff on hand to ensure a safe and secure environment. In<br />
addition, communal self-catering kitchen facilities create a<br />
superb social atmosphere.<br />
You will be guaranteed accommodation in your first year,<br />
provided an online application is received by 25 August.<br />
If you’re coming here from outside the EU, you’ll be<br />
guaranteed accommodation each year.<br />
if you ARE a postgraduate STUDENT<br />
You have the chance to stay in accommodation specifically<br />
reserved for postgraduate students. We aim to <strong>of</strong>fer these<br />
rooms to everyone who applies.<br />
These are usually shared flats or houses <strong>of</strong>f campus,<br />
within easy reach <strong>of</strong> both the <strong>University</strong> and city centre.<br />
if you ARE a study abroad student<br />
You are guaranteed <strong>University</strong>-owned or managed<br />
accommodation, either on or <strong>of</strong>f campus. You will normally be<br />
<strong>of</strong>fered a room in an apartment sharing with other students.<br />
PER MONTH<br />
what are the rooms like?<br />
We <strong>of</strong>fer a wide range. Altogether, we provide just under<br />
2,000 places on the main campus, and a further 800 places<br />
in shared flats in <strong>Stirling</strong> and nearby Bridge <strong>of</strong> Allan.<br />
Largely rooms are a single study bedroom with shared<br />
kitchen/bathroom facilities. There are also some en suite<br />
rooms. Nearly all are networked, so you can link your PC<br />
to our high-speed network. The majority <strong>of</strong> the campus is<br />
suitable for wheelchairs and some accommodation has<br />
specially adapted facilities. Please contact residential services<br />
as soon as possible to discuss your requirements.<br />
what about food?<br />
All our accommodation is self-catering, with shared kitchen<br />
facilities. There are several supermarkets near the <strong>University</strong>,<br />
plus a range <strong>of</strong> independent and speciality food shops.<br />
If you prefer not to cook, there are plenty <strong>of</strong> on-campus<br />
catering outlets <strong>of</strong>fering good value food. We <strong>of</strong>fer student<br />
discounts to help your money go that little bit further.<br />

<strong>Stirling</strong> has a relatively low cost <strong>of</strong> living, compared to other<br />
