In late May, Dennis Moore Jr. of Bridge City claimed a $1 million Mega
Millions ® prize at the Texas Lottery Claim Center in Beaumont.
Moore said upon discovering his win, “My first thought was, ‘This cannot
be possible.’ I called my mom first. Then my wife and sister-in-law called the rest
of the family.”
His Quick Pick ticket was the only second-tier winner in Texas for the drawing
on May 19. It matched all five of the numbers drawn (2 – 4 – 9 – 15 – 42),
but not the Mega Ball (13).
Moore says he’ll put the prize money
toward paying off a piece of property
he recently purchased. “I’d already
made up my mind that I would have to
go back to work to pay it off,” he said.
“It couldn’t have happened at a better
time. This was perfect.”

Johan Dinkelmann of Jourdanton decided to play a Texas Lottery
scratch-off game for the first time on his birthday, and his decision
eventually led him to claim a $10,000 prize at the Texas Lottery Claim
Center in San Antonio.
“It was a great time to start,” said Dinkelmann.
“I purchased a ticket and won $50, and with
those winnings, purchased another one and
won $10,000 on that ticket.”
His $10,000 prize was one of 870 in that
amount offered in the $500,000,000
Blockbuster game, which boasts
more than half a billion dollars in
total prizes.
The prize-winning ticket
came from the Pico #14
located at 1202 Oak in
Jourdanton.
Dinkelmann said, “I
purchased it on my
birthday, and what a
lucky day it was!”

Lottery Fun Returns to the State Fair!
The Texas Lottery is gearing up for its annual appearance at the 2009 State Fair
of Texas, running from September 25 through October 18 at Dallas Fair Park. Once
again, you’ll have a chance to play all your favorite Texas Lottery games at two
locations on the fairgrounds.
This year, our players will be able to purchase $5 Lucky Rider scratch-off tickets and
enter their non-winning tickets for a chance to win a custom-built motorcycle! The
motorcycle will be on display at the Magnolia Lounge. The drawing for the motorcycle
will be held at that location on Sunday, October 18.
As a special incentive to play the Games of Texas, players may receive a promotional
prize for each $5, $10, $15, $20 or $50 purchase of lottery tickets. Promotional items
for this year’s players include hooded sweatshirts, quad chairs, t-shirts, baseball caps,
beach towels, umbrellas and pop-up coolers.
The Texas Lottery Fun Center will feature the always-popular “Texas Lottery Game
Show” at 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. each day. This exciting game show will
include lots of audience participation and plenty of opportunities to win prizes and
Texas Lottery tickets.
Look for the Lottery Fun Centers at the State Fair and plan on having a whole
“lotto” fun!
