3. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION
Part A: Light yellow liquid with pungent odor (sulfur dioxide) that contains ammonium salts which produce
ammonia in the presence of bases or high heat and will produce toxic fumes if mixed with sodium
hypochlorite (bleach).
HARMFUL IF SWALLOWED, CAUSES SKIN AND EYE IRRITATION AND MAY CAUSE
ALLERGIC SKIN REACTION. DO NOT MIX WITH HOUSEHOLD BLEACH.

Working Solution: Colorless liquid with characteristic fixer smell that contains ammonium salts which produce
ammonia in the presence of bases or high heat and will produce toxic fumes if mixed with sodium hypochlorite
(bleach).

4. FIRST AID MEASURES
Inhalation: Move to fresh air, obtain medical attention if required.
Eye Contact: Hold eyelids apart and immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for 15 minutes. Get medical
attention.
Skin Contact: Immediately flush with plenty of water while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Launder
contaminated clothes and shoes prior to reuse. If skin irritation or an allergic skin reaction develops get medical
attention.
Ingestion:
Part A & B: Induce vomiting as directed by medical personnel. Never give anything by mouth to an
unconscious person. Obtain medical care and hospital treatment immediately.
Working Solution: Drink 1 - 2 glasses of water, get medical attention
5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES
Extinguishing Media: Water spray, dry chemical, carbon dioxide (CO2) or alcohol foam.
Equipment: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing to prevent contact with skin and eyes.
Hazardous Combustion Products: Excessive heat may produce hazardous decomposition products.
Part A: Ammonia and oxides of sulfur.
Part B: Oxides of sulfur.
Working Solution: Ammonia and oxides of sulfur.

6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
Flush to sewer with a large amount of water - May require neutralization if pH below 3 or above 12.
Part A: pH 5.2
Part B: Neutralize with sodium bicarbonate (baking soda).
Working Solution: pH 4.0 - 4.5
Otherwise, absorb spill with vermiculite or other suitable absorbent and place in impervious container for disposal in an
approved and permitted landfill.
Clean area thoroughly to remove residual contamination.
7. HANDLING AND STORAGE
Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Store between 10 - 25 o C (50 - 80 o F).
Protect shipments from freezing (Keep above 4.4 o C (40 o F))

8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION

Engineering Controls: Good general ventilation (10 room volumes per hour) should be sufficient to control
airborne levels below recommended exposure limits when product is used as intended.
If product is used in any other manner local exhaust ventilation may be necessary to control any air contaminants to
within their TLV’s during use of this product.
In addition the availability of an NIOSH approved air purifying respirator should be considered when large
quantities of product is being handled.
Respirator Types:
Part A, B & Working Solutions: Organic Vapor, acidic gas.
All respirators must be NIOSH approved.
In the U.S. if respirators are used, a program to comply with OSHA Standard 29CFR 1910.134 must be instituted.
Eye Protection: Chemical splash goggles or face shield.
Skin Protection: Impervious gloves (nitrile rubber).
