DNIPRO RIVER – MAIN WATER SOURCE OF UKRAINE - third largest water source in Europe after Danube river and Volga river - Dnipro basin sustains over 70% of national output - 44% of population of Ukraine is supplied with water from the Dnipro river basin - Industry located along main stem of Dnipro river (high pollution enterprises – metallurgy, heavy industry, coal and ore mining). In total more than 6 000 enterprises.
Unsatisfied conditions of providing water to the households are resulting from the next factors: ‣ Water inlets are not working full time because of the lack of deep ep pipes, fittings are out of orders, problems of artesian drillings s and critical conditions of water inlets. ‣ A number of main waterways have depreciated, and need to be changed. ‣ In the zones of depreciated water pots water pipes are leaking and a water is not counted. ‣ Huge depreciation of city pipes (more than 500 leaking per month) ‣ Unregulated water pressure in the municipal piping network. ‣ Unregulated orderly counting of water at the piping stations ‣ Lost of water in the houses is because of the bad conditions of fittings. ‣ Absence of water counting methods by users.
