2. University Maharani’s College, Jaipur

University Maharani’s College, saga of heritage, unique in its own way, soul of
all the Women Colleges of the State, was established in 1944. This College became a
constituent College of the University of Rajasthan in the year 1962. Since then, the
University Maharani’s College has earned a name for itself in imparting higher education.
Academic life here is oriented through Arts, Commerce and Science streams.
These streams include a number of subjects to opt for and myriads options open to the
students after graduation.
Besides the regular pass & honours courses in Science, Arts and Commerce
there are a number of currently relevant subjects offered to the students, which orient
them for various job opportunities.
Languages like German, French, Urdu and Persian are also taught on a regular
basis as one of the optional subjects. Fine Arts, Music, Hobby Dance and Home Science
are also an important part of the curriculum.
Maharani’s College wears the crown of all accessible knowledge through the
highly qualified, professionally sound and academically qualified faculty members, who
have achieved excellence in their own field.
Technical courses as well as vocational courses like Industrial Microbiology,
Biotechnology, Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA), Bachelor of Business
Administration (BBA), Office Management and Secretarial Practice (OMSP) are also
offered.
The College is running job oriented courses i.e. Tourism, Tax Procedure and
Practice, Foreign Trade: Practices and Procedures, Functional English and Fashion
Designing, Personality development etc..

4. University Commerce College, Jaipur

The University Commerce College is a premier centre of commerce and
business education in the country. Apart from traditional courses like B.Com. Pass and
B.Com. Hons., the College has gained prominence in recent years in running professional
courses like BBA and BCA. The College also offers a Vocational Course in Computer
Applications and Certificate Course in Steno-typing.
The College has two big playgrounds. The College also has A.C. Computer labs,
containing 60 computers. The labs are linked with LAN and VAN.
The College has a very large library with an enormous archive of prestigious
journals and rare books.
The College is one of the biggest input providers to All-India professional
examinations like CA, CS, ICWA and MBA. The achievements of the College in the
field of games and sports, NSS, NCC and scouting are highly commendable. A unique
feature of the college is its Career Counselling and Placement Centre which helps
students in getting suitable employment. A large number of students were recruited last
year by about 10 companies which held Campus Interviews in the College.

education and training in the field of computers and related areas. There is a highly
qualified and experienced faculty for providing quality education in Commerce, Business

5. University Law College, Jaipur

Courses of Study : LL.B.
The Law College, one of the constituent colleges of the University, is imparting
high quality education. Law is a mirror of society. Law brings about social change, which
in turn ensures change in the legal system. In the changed social scenario, introduction of
new courses, particularly relating to gender justice, human rights, environment protection,
judicial reforms etc., are the main concerns beneficial to the society. In the context, the
law students must have sound knowledge of philosophy and ideology of law, the
background issues and modes of action. The University Law College is equipped to deal
with these aspects of law with a human face.
This College was established in Jaipur by the Government of the Erstwhile State
of Jaipur in 1947, i.e. the year corresponding with the foundation of the Rajasthan
University. In the year 1953, the College was transferred by the State Government to the
University of Rajasthan. A new building ‘Vidhi Bhawan’ came in to existence and
teaching in this building commenced from 1975-76. During the session 1993-94, the
College was declared by the UGC as a Constituent College of the University of
Rajasthan.

For quite sometime a large number of students were also demanding opening of
one more institution to run law classes at the LL.B. level in the evening. Accordingly, the
University Evening Law College was established from the academic session 1991-92 as a
Self-Financing Institution.
6. Institute of Informatics & Instrumentation, Jaipur
The University has been conducting formal courses in Computer Applications
since 1986. The Certificate Course in Computer Applications was started in 1986. The
Diploma in Computer Applications in 1989-90 and MCA (Master of Computer
Applications) courses in 1990-91.
