Principles of operation
CBG solvent recycling units use fractional distillation to obtain both high purities
and high recoveries. The waste liquid is boiled and the vapours are separated,
purified and cooled back to highly-pure liquids for reuse. Solvent recycling units
produce solvents that can be used continuously at no additional expense.
Purities and recoveries for recycled solvents
• Purities, recoveries and processing speeds can be adjusted easily to your needs
• Purities as high as 99.8%; recoveries as high as 99+% are common
• Contaminant levels in water as low as < 1 ppb (parts per billion)
Solvents and volatile chemicals that can be recycled
• Xylene, toluene, and virtually all other aromatic hydrocarbons
• Mineral spirits, paint thinners and other commercial solvents
• Hexane, octane and aliphatic hydrocarbons
• Alcohols, glycols, esters, ethers, phenols and cresols
• Acetone, MEK, and other ketones
• Chlorinated, fluorinated and brominated hydrocarbons

Concentrators
Even if a waste stream cannot be recycled, there may be great savings in reducing
the waste volume to be disposed. A solvent recycler may be used to remove a
benign portion of the waste, such as water, which can be disposed of at no cost
to the customer. The remaining concentrated waste will have a much lower volume
and therefore a much lower disposal cost
