Since 1974, NLIHC has been the<br />
foremost voice in Washington, D.C.<br />
for the housing needs of<br />
low income Americans.<br />
When Members of Congress want to know how<br />
federal housing policy will affect the lowest<br />
income Americans, they turn to the <strong>Coalition</strong>. Our<br />
leadership in <strong>2011</strong> put a stop to housing policy<br />
proposals that would have proved harmful to low<br />
income people, and fought to retain the housing<br />
programs low income people need.<br />
