The staff of perinatologists are specialists in the diagnosis and treatment of problems that sometimes occur during pregnancy. The team of doctors, nurses, genetic counselors and sonographers assist your care provider in managing pre-term labor, diabetes, multiple gestations and hypertension. They also provide leading-edge diagnostic and monitoring services such as high resolution ultrasound, nuchal translucency screening, amniocentesis, chorionic villous sampling, biophysical pro<strong>file</strong>s and antepartum fetal surveillance (NST). MFMC also offers complete OB care to patients with a high degree of complexity and risk, or when very close pregnancy supervision is required. Patients should have a referral from their healthcare provider to be seen by Maternal-Fetal Medicine. Dr. de Regt is committed to using the best technology available to manage a pregnancy in a caring and empathetic way. She views her role as a means of making a difficult situation easier for a patient. She provides fetal diagnostic services including nuchal translucency screening, early amniocentesis, amniocentesis, fetal umbilical cord sampling and targeted ultrasound as well as formal consultations. Although most of her patients are referred from other obstetrical care providers, Dr. Kline gladly accepts patients who have complications or risks in their pregnancy. Rutherford, MD Born: 1953 Started Practice: 1982 At Evergreen Since: 1990 Board Certification: Obstetrics & Gynecology; Maternal Fetal Medicine Medical Education: University of Washington Dr. Rutherford acts as a consultant to assist a patient’s doctor in the evaluation or treatment of problems in pregnancy. In her practice, she strives to create an environment that combines information and technology with a genuine caring for families. Her aim is to enable families to be full partners in their own health care. Dr. Rutherford has publications on ultrasound, thromboembolism and exercise in pregnancy. She has a special interest in ultrasound and provides fetal diagnostic services including amniocentesis. Martin Walker, MD Born: 1960 Married Started Practice: 1992 At Evergreen Since: 1998 Medical Education: Nottingham University School of Medicine Dr. Walker practices in the area of high-risk pregnancy – mothers and babies with specific health problems, concerns or risks. His patients are primarily referred from other providers of maternity care, but he is happy to see private patients who have a clear risk in their pregnancy. His special interests include ultrasound nuchal translucency screening, chronic villous sampling, amniocentesis and fetal diagnosis and therapy. Dr. Walker believes in care that mixes current knowledge and techniques with the time-honored skills of listening and compassion.
