to the Cultural Heritage Stakeholders Meeting, which will be held on 10 th of May 2013 starting at
9.00 am
at the Hotel
EMERALD
Dear Madam or Sir,
I would
like to invite you on the
Stakeholders Meeting organized by the Department of Culturall
Heritage at the MCYS in cooperation with the RCC TFSC
(Regional Cooperation Council Task
Force on Society and
Culture) and the CEI (Central European Initiative) .
The Stakeholders Meeting is part of a wider consultationn on the role of cultural heritage in the
economic recovery of WBCs, promoted within a European project, where CEI and RCC are
collaborating together for strengthening the regional dimension in SEE, for the sake of feeding
regional strategies with new approaches from
the bottom-up.
The decentralised consultation is going on in
seven Western Balkan Countries (Albania, Bosnia
and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo ∗ , the Former Yugoslav
Republic of
Macedonia,
Montenegroo
and Serbia).
Main objective of the Stakeholders Meeting is to identify from the bottom up the cultural heritagee
sites/assets with the
highest potential to be integrated into
regional cultural tourist products and
to be streamlined for funding by international financial schemes at the occasion of a final
stakeholders conference, which will be organized in June
2013. The cultural heritage sites and
projects, identified within the Ljubljana Process II as flagship projects, will be put in
the focus of
discussion in order to complement and upgrade the efforts
already done within Ljubljana Processs
II.

The expected result
is to record cultural tourist products of potential regional relevance and/or
multi beneficiary projects of cultural tourism,
which should enhance linkages and networking in
the field of culturall heritage and could include the cultural tourism product into
the relevant
national and regional strategies.
The Stakeholders Meeting will be leaded by the CEI Short Term Expert, Mrs. Darja Radić, who
has a comprehensive experiencee in tourism development programming and creation of integral
tourism
products.
Stakeholders Meeting Agenda
1. Welcome word ( by

3. Introduction of RCCC and RCC TFSC
4. Introduction of the CEI project and linkage to the Ljubljanaa Process II
5. Introduction of the objectives and
goals of CEI cultural heritage project activity
6. Workshop, where the following issues will be
discussed among the participants:
a. Identification of on-going cultural tourism projects in the country and in
the region
of needs, priorities and existing initiatives in
the field of cultural tourism projects in
b. Identification
the country with the
emphasis on
already identified flagship cultural heritage projects
c. Selection of the most promising
culture heritage sites (flagship cultural heritage projects) to be
potentially relevant
for the creation of the regional cultural tourist products, which could be
promoted in the international tourism market
in a short time.
d. Brainstorming on possible other opportunities for cultural heritage sites to be included into
regional cultural tourist products
e. Identification of main barriers and constraints which could prevent
the creation
of regional
cultural tourist products as accessibility problems, special planning problems, lack of
management knowledge, lack of tourism marketing knowledge etc.
f. Suggestions for overcoming difficulties.
The Stakeholders Meeting will last until 15.00 pm.
