A chance to see the <strong>Ashmolean</strong>’s unique cast<br />
collection on the lower-ground floor. Tours are led<br />
by <strong>Museum</strong> Volunteers and are free but donations<br />
are welcome. Places are allocated on a first-come/<br />
first-served basis, no advance booking. Numbers<br />
limited to 12 people. Access: regrettably, due to<br />
the layout of the historic building, the lower-ground<br />
floor is only accessible by stairs.<br />

A Short Prehistory of the Persian Gulf<br />
With Dr Harriet Crawford, University of Cambridge<br />

This lecture looks at developments made in the last<br />
half century, as archaeologists have begun to reveal<br />
the distinctive prehistoric cultures that occupied<br />
the shores of the Persian Gulf. Dr Crawford<br />
discusses the central role that these societies<br />
played in the complex trading relations that linked<br />
ancient Mesopotamia with Iran and the Indus<br />
