Admissions Requirements starting with the Spring 2013 entering class<br />
Academic Requirements:<br />
______ HS diploma or GED<br />
______ Eligible to take ENG 101<br />
______ Eligible to take MAT 102 or completed MAT 101 or equivalent with a 2.0 or higher<br />
______ Eligible to take BIO 111 – may be met by successful completion of one of the following: BIO 110, BIO 111 or<br />
112 with a 2.0 or higher; or HS AP Biology (score of 3, 4, or 5); or a passing grade on the Biology CLEP exam<br />
______ Successful completion of one of the following within 10 yrs: HS Regents Chemistry or equiv. with a grade<br />
of 75 or higher; HS AP Chemistry (score 3,4 or 5);CHM 120; college Chemistry w/lab with a grade of 2.0 or<br />
higher or a passing grade on the Chemistry I CLEP exam<br />

Take the TEAS test and obtain a minimum score Level of BASIC. Students who obtain a higher score will<br />

Attend a <strong>Nursing</strong> pre-admission orientation (valid for 3 yrs.) to receive information about health<br />
forms, program standards, and criminal record &drug screening policies. Orientation dates are<br />

The <strong>Nursing</strong> Department will review transcripts of those students who have been enrolled in a health<br />
profession program at <strong>SUNY</strong> <strong>Orange</strong> or another college<br />
Selection Process:<br />
Submit Program Application form by February 1 (Middletown) or October 1 (Newburgh)<br />
Students will be considered for admission into this program based on the completion of all mandatory<br />
academic and department specific requirements, highest combination of cumulative GPA, TEAS score,<br />
and credits completed toward the program (see reverse), and seats available<br />
All <strong>Nursing</strong> Admissions Requirements must be completed before February 1 st in order for a student to be considered<br />
for acceptance into the program for the fall semester in Middletown or before October 1 st for acceptance into the<br />
program for the spring semester in Newburgh.<br />
*Though not admissions requirements, the courses below are required as part of the <strong>Nursing</strong> program (see reverse) and<br />
completing them will enhance your eligibility (31 credits). Please be aware that if you have not taken a course within its<br />
designated time-frame, you must retake it.<br />
