Rounding Exact Fives

This eliminates the mathematical bias introduced

by always rounding 5’s up.

So, rounding to the nearest 10, the number 75

becomes 80 (just like you were taught), but 85

also rounds to 80. Eight is even, where the 9 of

90 is odd.

5.5 becomes 6, and 4.5 becomes 4.

What about 4.51?

This is not an exact 5. It’s more than 5, so round

up: 5.0
