The beautiful market town of Stratford-upon-Avon is world famous as the birthplace of
William Shakespeare, England’s finest poet and playwright. Surrounded by beautiful English
countryside, Stratford is an ideal place to come and learn English. As well as visiting the theatre
during your course, there are many other cultural attractions to see such as the beautifully
restored Harvard House and the Shakespeare properties dating back to the 15th century.
You might also like to take a boat trip along the river Avon, or simply enjoy the atmosphere
in one of the many pubs in the town where you will receive a very warm welcome.
Linguarama in Stratford-upon-Avon was founded in 1989
to provide intensive English language training to business and
professional people. Since then over 18,000 participants have
improved their language skills and gone on to work more
effectively and efficiently through the medium of English.
Location:
Situated just 5 minutes walk from the centre of Stratford, our training centre is
located in a modern 3 floor office building. We have 26 classrooms equipped with
state of the art learning technology to enhance your learning experience.
Linguarama Stratford:
One of the reasons people choose Stratford-upon-Avon as a location for their English
training is that Stratford offers a traditional English environment. Being quite a small
town, it is possible to walk everywhere with relative ease. You can walk from your
accommodation to our training centre or you can walk into town at lunchtime to
do some shopping or sightseeing.
As well as the Shakepeare houses (15th, 16th and 17th century buildings,
tastefully restored and providing a very incisive insight into how life was in those
times), Stratford is home to 3 first class theatres which are complemented by the
RSC (Royal Shakespeare Company) – one of the finest acting companies in the world.
There is something very authentic about watching one of Shakespeare’s plays in one
of the Shakespeare Theatres performed by the RSC in Shakespeare’s Stratford.

Workshops:
With a variety of different topics each week, these sessions are designed to promote
learner independence skills which will enable students to continue learning English
more independently and more effectively once they have returned home.
Social Programme:
The social programme is an important part of the learning experience. It provides the
participants with extended opportunities to use and apply their English in less formal,
but very ‘real’ situations. Every evening an activity is organised for the participants.
The activities are varied, enjoyable and interesting. At the weekends, the participants
often like to organise their own programmes, typically a visit to Warwick Castle,
Oxford, Birmingham or London.
Accommodation:
Our Executive Host Families have been specially selected to provide a high standard
of accommodation in a welcoming family environment. All are situated within
walking distance of the centre (maximum 25 minutes). They provide half-board
during the week and full board at weekends. Each participant has a comfortable
study bedroom. Most importantly, the family provides an ideal opportunity for the
participants to have more practice listening to and using authentic language in
authentic situations. We are also happy to recommend hotel accommodation suited
to your requirements and within close proximity to the training centre. We have
specially negotiated rates with the main hotels in Stratford.

Other Facilities:
Stratford offers a wide range of sporting activities. There are a number of jogging
circuits in and around Stratford. We also play football once a week. We organise
volleyball and we can also play tennis or badminton at the local leisure centre. There
are several swimming pools in Stratford and 3 well equipped gyms to choose from.
