Stratford-upon-Avon<br />
The beautiful market town of Stratford-upon-Avon is world famous as the birthplace of<br />
William Shakespeare, <strong>England</strong>’s f<strong>in</strong>est poet and playwright. Surrounded by beautiful <strong>English</strong><br />
countryside, Stratford is an ideal place to come and learn <strong>English</strong>. As well as visit<strong>in</strong>g the theatre<br />
dur<strong>in</strong>g your course, there are many other cultural attractions to see such as the beautifully<br />
restored Harvard House and the Shakespeare properties dat<strong>in</strong>g back to the 15th century.<br />
You might also like to take a boat trip along the river Avon, or simply enjoy the atmosphere<br />
<strong>in</strong> one of the many pubs <strong>in</strong> the town where you will receive a very warm welcome.<br />
L<strong>in</strong>guarama <strong>in</strong> Stratford-upon-Avon was founded <strong>in</strong> 1989<br />
to provide <strong>in</strong>tensive <strong>English</strong> language tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g to bus<strong>in</strong>ess and<br />
professional people. S<strong>in</strong>ce then over 18,000 participants have<br />
improved their language skills and gone on to work more<br />
effectively and efficiently through the medium of <strong>English</strong>.<br />

Situated just 5 m<strong>in</strong>utes walk from the centre of Stratford, our tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g centre is<br />
located <strong>in</strong> a modern 3 floor office build<strong>in</strong>g. We have 26 classrooms equipped with<br />
state of the art learn<strong>in</strong>g technology to enhance your learn<strong>in</strong>g experience.<br />
L<strong>in</strong>guarama Stratford:<br />
One of the reasons people choose Stratford-upon-Avon as a location for their <strong>English</strong><br />

As well as the Shakepeare houses (15th, 16th and 17th century build<strong>in</strong>gs,<br />
tastefully restored and provid<strong>in</strong>g a very <strong>in</strong>cisive <strong>in</strong>sight <strong>in</strong>to how life was <strong>in</strong> those<br />
times), Stratford is home to 3 first class theatres which are complemented by the<br />
RSC (Royal Shakespeare Company) – one of the f<strong>in</strong>est act<strong>in</strong>g companies <strong>in</strong> the world.<br />
There is someth<strong>in</strong>g very authentic about watch<strong>in</strong>g one of Shakespeare’s plays <strong>in</strong> one<br />
of the Shakespeare Theatres performed by the RSC <strong>in</strong> Shakespeare’s Stratford.<br />

With a variety of different topics each week, these sessions are designed to promote<br />

more <strong>in</strong>dependently and more effectively once they have returned home.<br />
Social Programme:<br />
The social programme is an important part of the learn<strong>in</strong>g experience. It provides the<br />
participants with extended opportunities to use and apply their <strong>English</strong> <strong>in</strong> less formal,<br />
but very ‘real’ situations. Every even<strong>in</strong>g an activity is organised for the participants.<br />
The activities are varied, enjoyable and <strong>in</strong>terest<strong>in</strong>g. At the weekends, the participants<br />
often like to organise their own programmes, typically a visit to Warwick Castle,<br />
Oxford, Birm<strong>in</strong>gham or London.<br />
Accommodation:<br />
Our Executive Host Families have been specially selected to provide a high standard<br />
of accommodation <strong>in</strong> a welcom<strong>in</strong>g family environment. All are situated with<strong>in</strong><br />
walk<strong>in</strong>g distance of the centre (maximum 25 m<strong>in</strong>utes). They provide half-board<br />
dur<strong>in</strong>g the week and full board at weekends. Each participant has a comfortable<br />
study bedroom. Most importantly, the family provides an ideal opportunity for the<br />
participants to have more practice listen<strong>in</strong>g to and us<strong>in</strong>g authentic language <strong>in</strong><br />
authentic situations. We are also happy to recommend hotel accommodation suited<br />
to your requirements and with<strong>in</strong> close proximity to the tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g centre. We have<br />
specially negotiated rates with the ma<strong>in</strong> hotels <strong>in</strong> Stratford.<br />

Stratford offers a wide range of sport<strong>in</strong>g activities. There are a number of jogg<strong>in</strong>g<br />
circuits <strong>in</strong> and around Stratford. We also play football once a week. We organise<br />
volleyball and we can also play tennis or badm<strong>in</strong>ton at the local leisure centre. There<br />
are several swimm<strong>in</strong>g pools <strong>in</strong> Stratford and 3 well equipped gyms to choose from.<br />
