He is the absolute shooting star among
the young international magicians. At the
age of 25 Sebastian Nicolas can list an
impressive number of important awards
and prizes which tellingly confirm his
outstanding talent. The comet-like ascent
of the young star has its beginning as the
Munich-born boy discovers his love of magic
through his grandfather at the age of
ten. In the magician Gerhardt Burghardt
he soon finds a coach and mentor who
recognizes and promotes his exceptional
potential. From the very start Sebastian
Nicolas‘s special love has been manipulation
- magic achieved through deftness
and sleight of hand. In the following years
the young artist rapidly develops his very
own style with creativity and determination.
In his innovative show he draws the
attention of critics and the general public
and has been honoured with numerous
prizes - amongst others the German Jugendkulturpreis
(Young Persons‘ Culture
Prize) whereby he is the first magician to
be awarded this prize. In 2005 Sebastian
Nicolas turns his calling into a profession
and becomes a professional magician. He
works with the best directors and choreographers
in the world and wins Germany‘s
magicians‘ championship in the manipulation
category in 2006.
In the summer of 2009 he makes the
final breakthrough into the top class of
international magicians with the title of
world vice champion and the award of
the renowned „Mandrake d‘Or“ of the
French Academy of Illusionists, a prize
won earlier by such famous magicians
as David Copperfield and Siegfried and
Roy. As one of the youngest participants,
Nicolas takes part in the world magic
championship - an event that is held just
every four years - in Peking in 2009 and
lands on the winners‘ podium - the first
German to do this for 18 years.
The charismatic conjurer fascinates audiences
around the world with his prizewinning
show „Mystical Minutes“ live on
stage and regularly bedazzles millions of
television viewers as in 2007 during his
appearance in the French „Bet you won‘t
make it“ programme. With his shows he
has appeared in five continents and 25
countries from Dubai and Taipei to Hong
Kong, Paris, London, Moscow, Singapore,
Tokyo and Peking.

Enthusiastic fans throughout the world
revel in his surrealistic, classic artistry
which above all in Asia brings audiences
to their feet with standing ovations
and hymns of praise. Nicolas‘ s speciality
is manipulation, in other words classical
magic which brings about mysterious
miracles solely by the deftness of the
hands. In his shows one seeks in vain for
young ladies being
sawn up or pierced with swords in special
boxes and exaggerated technical
effects. Sebastian Nicolas is simply a
modern master of the age-old skill of
sleight of hand. The long forgotten secret
of ancient magic is reborn in his mystical
shows interpreted in a new con-
temporary manner.
With his assured sense of style, the
magician - mysterious, romantic and
enigmatic - presents himself in a smart
black suit, with black hair and a penetrating
look. His perfect technique in combination
with his stage presence and
charisma permit magic to be revived in
the form in which it has been embodied
for thousands of years: astonishment
about the incomprehensible, real magic,

the ubiquitous technical tricks of today.
Sebastian Nicolas‘s magic is founded on
his unique ability, an ability that can dispense
with cheap technical tricks and is
at the same time far removed from dusty
rabbits drawn out of top-hats.
The dazzling young magician stages
his shows as classical and weightless
choreographies in which the laws of reality
appear to have been suspended.
Watches appear, disappear or turn to
dust, playing cards bob up from nowhere,
in its flight from one hand to the other
a ball changes into a pocket watch. With
a love of detail, striking ideas and enjoyment
in the orchestration, Sebastian
Nicolas manipulates not only the time
but also the comprehension of his onlookers.
The audience is bathed in alternating
emotions. Nicolas knows how to
touch the hearts of his audience and to
spirit them away into mysterious and
magical lands before then in the next
moment releasing the pent-up excitement
in liberating laughter.

Belonging to the continuously growing
following of the congenial magician
is also super-star Pink. During her
tour of Germany the singer visited one
of Nicolas‘s shows and was so captivated
that she requested a private closeup
for herself and her team. Then, in
her immediate proximity, the young
magician entranced the star with apparently
impossible conjuring tricks
and turned the laws of reality upside
