FOCAL LENGTH A Photographer’s Showcase by Brenda Ahearn European Brenda’s Vacation Brenda Ahearn did the unthinkable in January 2004. She left her job at the Salina Journal in Salina, KS, to spend nearly six months backpacking and photographing parts of Europe. Her journey began in Greece, and eventually took her to Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, England and Ireland. A pair of tennis shoes and twenty thousand images later Brenda had produced a tremenous collection of work that portrayed a fly-on-the-wall look at the nuances of Europe. Brenda, the former university photographer at Northern Arizona Universiy, made it back from her jaunt just in time to make the Houston Symposium in June. 10 UPAA Contact Sheet
