UPCOMING EVENTS
*Food is yum! Join your fellow
high school teens for Mass and
dinner out at IHOP in Germantown
on Saturday, July 21 st . We’ll be
attending the 5:00pm Mass then
make our way over to IHOP for a
breakfast-dinner. (NOTE: each person is responsible
for their own meal)! Please coordinate your own
transportation for this event. RSVP to the Rectory
by July 18 th for planning purposes!
**HOT! HOT! HOT! Join Youth Ministry for
our first ever chili-cookoff! Bring a pot of your
secret recipe chili for an official judging! Prizes
will be awarded! Afterwards, stick around for an
outdoor movie! *Please bring a side
dish to share if you haven’t mastered
your chili-making skills! Sunday,
August 5 th from 6:00-10:00pm!
***Join Saint Paul’s High School YM for a
day at the park! On Tuesday, August 7 th we’re
headed to Hershey Park for a day of amusement!
SPACE IS LIMITED, so pick up a registration form
off the YM table and return it to the Rectory with
$70! The cost covers admission, transportation,
breakfast and ONE meal ticket. Registrations
accepted until July 25 th , on a first-come first-served
basis. THE ONLY WAY TO RESERVE YOUR
SPOT IS TO TURN IN THE PERMISSION FORM
AND PAYMENT! Join us for a great day!
GUIDES NEEDED AT THE NATIONAL
SHRINE - Serving as a guide or receptionist at
the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate
Conception is a beautiful ministry that offers an
opportunity to share one's faith with others. It also
enriches the experience of those who come to the
Shrine on pilgrimage. For more information, please

WOLDWIDE MARRIAGE ENCOUNTER
Today we celebrate the Nativity of Saint John the
Baptist. Just like John the Baptist each one of
us has been fearfully, wonderfully made by God
for a special purpose. Are we each trying every
day to live God’s plan for our lives? Find out how
you can more fully live God’s plan for your
marriage by attending one of the next Worldwide
Marriage Encounter Weekends in the Archdiocese
of Washington, September 21-22, or November 16-
18. An early application is highly recommended.

SUMMER TOURS AT THE FRANCISCAN
MONASTERY - Ready for a break? Visit the
Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land in America
this summer for Mass, a tour of the church,
replicas of Holy Land shrines and catacombs, or
a peaceful walk through the rosary portico or
gardens. Daily tours on the hour, from 9:00am-
3:00pm (no tours at noon), and on Sundays,
1:00pm-3:00pm. The monastery is located at 1400
Quincy Street, N.E., Washington, DC 20017 (free

Compete with your peers in fun-filled soak activities
including a water balloon toss/fight, bobbing for
apples, and a riveting game of dry-dry-wet.
Gang up on the Youth Minister and see if you
can SOAK her! Just be wary, or the (water) tables
may turn! Prepare to be soaked on Sunday, August
19 th from 6:00-8:00pm!
