NQT INDUCTION TRAINING 2012-2013
Narrowing the Gap Training
Barnet will be providing a Narrowing the Gap training programme relating to crosscurricular
themes free of charge to maintained schools.
Three half-day (2.00 – 5.30) sessions with a focus on identifying and supporting pupils
whose progress and attainment may be affected by factors relating to gender, socioeconomic
status, language, ethnicity or special needs will run in the autumn and spring
terms and will cover Using data to support planning, Literacy across the curriculum
and Assessment.

Barnet NQT Induction Training Programme
Although the Barnet NQT induction training package is principally aimed at primary
schools, it also contains six sessions relating to generic areas of key importance to both
primary and secondary practitioners. Secondary NQTs are very welcome to join these
sessions. The buy-in package charge is £750 per NQT and includes access to all training
available in Barnet’s NQT Induction Training Programme. Prices for individual sessions
are £249 for a whole day and £129 for a half day.

Please note that this programme and its costs are separate from the BPSI
professional development programme.

Presently the Local Authority does not charge maintained schools a fee for carrying out
the Appropriate Body function. Non maintained schools are charged £390 total (or £130
per assessment period). This fee is separate from the NQT Induction Training
Programme. From September 2013 this fee may be charged to all schools.
