Bishop Healy Province
District of New Hampshire
Thomas A. Ingham
District Master
My Worthy Brothers and Sir Knights,
When I was your State Deputy I wrote a letter each month for the State Website. I wanted
to keep everyone informed of dates, events, membership and programs. I will try to do
the same thing as Master. I know that the two positions really don’t compare as far as
hours and paperwork but I believe that it is still important to touch bases as often as
possible.
As I mentioned at the meeting in Claremont, I am not the important person in this deal. I
am the guy that was chosen to be an administrator. The important part of our mission is
the programs that are run by the assemblies in support of our Bishops and Priests,
teachers and students and most of all the veterans in the homes and hospitals. My main
job is to help grow the 4 th degree and do at least 2 exemplifications a year. Your efforts
should keep me busy.
Concerning the exemplification on January 8 th in Dover, let me give you a little
background. As you know we where trying to get a degree in Manchester on December
11 th . When this didn’t pan out I called Rochester to see if we could get January 8 th . I was
pushing hard and made a lot of phone calls and emails to try to rush this to fruition. I
eventually called the Faithful Navigator and let him off the hook. Things were not falling
into place on my end and I figured that we would end up going into February. I decided
to sit back and let a higher power take over. Maybe I was trying too hard to make
something happen. I prayed a little and let go of my need to control the situation. A week
later my wife, Janet, and I were in Dover to do an installation of officers at St. George’s
church. We went to mass, did the installation in the church and went downstairs and had
a great dinner with the assembly officers and their wives. As I looked at the newly
renovated hall and ate the meal I got a feeling that someone was trying to tell me
something. When I met Father Joseph after the mass he offered us the use of his church
anytime we needed it for anything we wanted. After talking with the FN and the head
chef I knew we could do it. The assembly met and decided to host us and that is how I
knew that God was in charge and leading me to this decision. The church is very small
and the hall will hold around 120 people. We will have to change a couple of things
around to accommodate our needs but I know that we will enjoy the event and have a
great degree. If you all do a bang up job of recruiting we will be very cozy indeed. But
isn’t that part of my challenge as an administrator?
Another of my challenges is the finances to afford to put on an exemplification. To date
we have enough in ads to pay for the book and not much else. I know that there are more
checks coming but we really need more. Please try to send your ad in electronic form so
that I can forward it directly to the bookmaker. Remember, this is a one time expense for
the year. We will not be coming back to you for another book till next year.

That’s all for now, remember to recruit, always serve and be a force for those to follow in
their civic duties. Thank you all for all you do.
God Bless,
Tom
