The Product Life Cycle Management (PLCM) System is an integrated aircraft
life cycle decision support system for modern aircraft. The primary mission is
to provide a means for modern aircraft fleet management optimization through
the analysis of operational parameters collected during the life of the fleet.

Product Life Cycle Management System
The system has been continuously refined,
over six years, to yield an optimized deployable
aircraft maintenance management
system for life cycle support.
PLCM is a generic system and can be adapted
to specific customer requirements for various
aircraft platforms. The installed base includes
both helicopters and fixed wing aircraft.
The PLCM system manages the fleet maintenance
information database containing
historic data and adds the latest downloaded
data to the central database.
The user can selectively extract management
information and reports through an
integrated comprehensive filtering system for
the following operational areas:
• Fleet Management Analysis
• Status Monitoring and Reporting
• Operational Usage Analysis
• Maintenance and Inspection Planning
• Engineering Analysis
Reports are flexible and can be customised
to deliver the required information which
can be presented in a graphic or table format.
The reports can support critical maintenance
decisions, resulting in higher aircraft operational
availability and substantial cost saving
through optimized maintenance.
The system includes a range of information
viewers and analysis tools to give each user
efficient access to the specific maintenance
information required.
PLCM allows multiple security level access
for different users to protect sensitive data
and prevent misuse.

The PLCM consists of a commercial off-theshelf
desktop computer executing proprietary
software. This makes it extremely flexible for
use in many different applications as customisation
can be done to client specification.
The software uses Microsoft ASP.NET/C#
software (using .Net Framework 3.5) and is
based on a single-server multi-client web
based network architecture. Client interfacing
to the server is accomplished via a secure
HTTPS/XML data interface to a centralized
Oracle database server. It supports multiple
concurrent users. The web based architecture
facilitates secure global access to PLCM
through a local area network, or the Internet.
