<strong>PLAYER</strong> <strong>OF</strong> <strong>THE</strong> <strong>YEAR</strong> <strong>AWARD</strong><br />
The Dave Treadwell Player of the Year Award is open<br />
to players who are members of our <strong>District</strong> for the entire<br />
year. The winner will be recognized at the first <strong>District</strong><br />
Regional following each year’s competition, and will receive<br />
a certificate and a $100 cash prize.<br />
Dave Treadwell was a Grand Life Master who was<br />
named ACBL Honorary Member in 1985 and inducted into<br />
the ACBL Hall of Fame in 1998. Dave won two national<br />
championships, had second place finishes in several others, and had well over 100<br />
regional victories. When he passed away in 2010 at the age of 97, he had over 26,000<br />
masterpoints.<br />
For a number of years, Dave was involved in Unit and <strong>District</strong> administrative<br />
activities and was twice President of the Delaware State Bridge Association (1961 and<br />
1976) and twice President of <strong>District</strong> 4 (1968-69 and 1973-74). At the national level, he<br />
was co-chair of the ACBL Appeals Committee from 1975 to 1991, chair of the ACBL<br />
Board of Governors from 1979 to 1981, and Chair of the Hall of Fame Committee from<br />
1995 to 1998.<br />

The Jeanne Fisher Player of the Year Award is given<br />
to players who are members of our <strong>District</strong> for the entire<br />
year and who start the calendar year with less than 2,000<br />
masterpoints. The winner will be recognized at the first<br />
<strong>District</strong> Regional following each year’s competition, and will<br />
receive a certificate and a $100 cash prize.<br />
Jeanne Fisher was a diamond life master with more<br />
than 40 regional tournament wins. She won the Women’s<br />
Pairs with Nadine Wood in 1989. She was the founder of<br />
the South Jersey Bridge Club and brought her joy and sunshine to the bridge table and<br />
all who knew her.<br />

The Jane Segal Player of the Year Award is given<br />
to players who are members of our <strong>District</strong> for the<br />
entire year and who start the calendar year with less<br />
than 500 masterpoints. The winner will be recognized<br />
at the first <strong>District</strong> Regional following each year’s<br />
competition, and will receive a certificate and a $100<br />
cash prize.<br />
Jane Segal has been teaching bridge since 1970. She founded the J & J Bridge School<br />
in 1973 which continued for 37 years. Jane is proud of the hundreds of students who<br />
play regularly who started with her.<br />
Jane has coached bridge teams at nine country clubs (some for over 20 years) and<br />
taught at three others.<br />
Jane has won many regional events. The first was in 1969 and made her a Life Master.<br />
She has placed in the top 10 in in 4 national mixed events and more than a dozen<br />
women’s events. She is an emerald life master.<br />
Jane has served on the Board of Governors for 30 years and has served as President of<br />
Unit 141 and <strong>District</strong> 4.i<br />
