1. Introduction & Welcome
Dear rally friends,
First of all, we have to say THANK YOU! Thank you to all competitors entered for your support for our event! It is
absolutely amazing to see the number of entries we have. Times are not easy for anyone, as we can read in the
news every day, but you have all gone the extra mile to get the financial support from your sponsors to be part
of an epic motorsport event, which we will be bringing you again.
Looking back a few years, not that many things have changed in our concept for our regular visitors. We have
fine-tuned some areas of our operation and listened very carefully to any comments from the stakeholders. The
route has changed enough to bring new challenges to our competitors, the service area changes even if did not
want it - but this time it has definitely gone for the better, as it is gradually taking a more final shape!
As we are More than a Rally, we will be offering you a lot more than just that. Our service park offers various
entertainment over the rally weekend, but also more serious information, such as the FIA Action for Road Safety
campaign. There is something for everyone, from Disney themed Family World to motorbike action and artists to
please all tastes. We have also engaged ourselves to a new charity bringing joy and good care to the little patients
in children’s hospitals around the country. Over the weekend, you will meet our partners ‘Hospital Clowns’ in the
service area, bringing a smile to your face, too.
Please keep in mind that we are all there to make this an immemorial event for you all, always ready to lend a
hand where need be. Come and meet us in the rally office, media centre - anywhere, just for a coffee if nothing
else.

1.2 Environmental Policy
The organiser of Neste Oil Rally Finland, AKK Sports Ltd, wishes to act responsibly towards the environment in a
most effective way and wants to make sure that its event causes minimal harm to the society and environment.
The company also puts focus on pursuing a more eco-friendly all-round approach by awakening consciousness
of environmental issues in rally fans and all other factions involved.
In order to promote environmental responsibility, the organiser will:
- obey all laws and bylaws
- educate its own organisation and volunteers in environmental issues
- pursue options for better use of energy and eco-friendly solutions
- focus on minimising the amount of waste from the event and looking after its recycling, both in the special
stages and in the service park
- favour eco-friendly materials when building up the event
- strive to minimise the use of private cars in its event by increasing public transport
- fill the cars used by its organisation with the best eco-friendly fuel available
- demand eco-friendly solutions from its suppliers
- commit to decrease the number of prints and photocopies in the media centre
According to the current FIA trend, Neste Oil Rally Finland will also do its utmost to reduce its carbon footprint.
One important factor is the number of print outs made from various documents. Rally Guide 2 will only be
published on the event website and a bare minimum of supplementary regulations will be printed for the key
officials and competitors.
We would appreciate all competitors joining us for this campaign by informing us early the number of road books
and other printed documents they need (should this be less than the regulatory package), so we do not end up
throwing a lot of unused materials straight to recycling.
